Can passwall form passages that twist and turn or do they have to be straight?

Sczarni RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

The rules don't state they have to be straight, just the total length. So it is up to the DM if they can twist and turn. I would allow it.

I had always wondered why almost any wall would need more than 1 passwall spell to get through it. I could see at lower levels needing more than 10ft to get through a stone siege wall of a castle. But what kind of demented person would make a wood or plaster wall more than a foot thick?

Maybe a dragon decides he wants a new layer of kobold-bone plaster on his walls every year or so to cover damage inflicted by adventurers and cover the splatter. And after 500 years he decides to remodel and go back to the original stone walls. After the commercial, we look at the texture difference of using kobold over dwarf when crushing the bone for mixing your plaster. If texture isn't a problem and coloring is, the off-white dwarf versus the yellow twinge of kobold. Stay tuned for more Cave Improvement!
