Quick Favored Class question

Alright, this applies to a majority of them.

Let's say we're talking about the Alchemist Half-Orc favored class option.

Every level they add a +1/2 damage to their bombs, correct?

So every two levels they add +1 damage to their bombs, right?

Because one of my fellow players misinterprets this as +50%.

Is this right or should I smack him?

Every two levels they add +1. But I also do not encourage smacking him.
