Godsmouth Heresy Map Query

Can someone tell me if I'm missing something when reading the map for the Godmouth Ossuary? It appears to me that there is a change in elevation of thirty feet between room 8 and room 6f if you go the long way around but not if you take the secret door through 9b. Similarly if you walk from room 8 through rooms 10, 30, 29 to the secret door into 27 - it appears you have risen 30 feet.

It seems relatively easy to fix with a stairwell between 9b and 6f (and possibly just outside the secret door to 27). But I wondered whether I was having a mental aberration.

Spoiler tags would have been a good idea :)

Godsmouth Heresy:
I think the rooms 9a-9g are supposed to overlook the center, so the secret doors open about 30-40 feet up in the walls. However, there still seems to be an issue with the corridor between 27 and 28.

Urath, with respect, there's absolutely nothing in the original post that needs spoilering. If Steve had referred to "the room with the electric gelatinous cube" or "the hallway with the magic mouths that trigger a cave-in trap", then you'd have had a very good point.

But players have no idea if their characters are in Room 30 or not.

Yes, it is possible I am too willing to err on the side of caution.

Thanks for pointing this out, Steve - I have read over this map more than a few times and hadn't noticed the discrepancy. Perhaps there is a gradual decline in areas 9-10 that would explain the depth differences. At least, that's the way I'm going to run it with my players.

Yeah a gradual incline works ok as well - I figured since the whole thing seemed constructed a stairwell or such would 'fit' the backstory better (especially between 8 and 6f), but I think your solution has the benefit of requiring no real adjustment to the map.

My main reason for posting was in case I was having a senior's moment - it sounds like I wasn't.
