help on a futuristic fantasy

Advice

I’m new to pathfinder, I have been playing DnD 3.5 for about 2 years and I am planning a new campaign. Now I know pathfinder is for high fantasy campaigns but I very rarely do “normal” campaigns and since I really enjoy the rules that pathfinder presents I was hoping to use pathfinder to build a new setting for this campaign. What I am aiming to do is create a setting that has both high magic and high technology levels, the world is a very religious setting but the “gods” have a direct affect on peoples lives. In some situations I envisioned the gods to actually be present in the material plane and they would work similar to a king or queen. Also a lot of the technology I was thinking would be halfway between magic and electrical devices. Most of my inspiration for this campaign actually comes from the final fantasy games (mainly 7, 10 and 13) however I’m not planning on doing the campaign based in any of those words but my own creation (however that doesn‘t mean that I won‘t take some ideas).

Now were I have difficulties is that I don’t know how to simulate the vehicle rules, futuristic weapons (such as plasma guns) and other changes (for example clerics). I have the core book, the advance player guide and the gm guide as well as the first bestiary, I also have several books from 3.5 but none of them seem to be of any help in what I am trying to do (the only one that comes close is the judge Dredd roleplaying book that uses the D20 rules but there are some odd discrepancies). So is there any PDFs or books that people recommend for me to do this or any home brew rules that I could use? Also I would appreciate any other suggestions that people have.

When all else fails make stuff up.

I needed to stat up automatic weapons and a plasma rifle in my setting. Here's what I came up with:

Plasma rifle, fires as scorching ray, range 150 ft. 10 round magazine. Can be set to single shot or 3-round burst. standard action to change magazines. 1/2 damage is fire, 1/2 untyped.

SMG: d6 damage/shot. Fires in 5, 10, and 20 round bursts. 50 round box magazine (standard action to reload). 100 foot range. 10 shot burst confers +2 to hit. 20 round burst confers +5. Roll to hit. The number by which you beat the target's AC is the amount of shots that hit.

For example, Via AC 15 I roll 12 with a +3 to hit using 20 shots (+5 to hit additionally). Total is +20 to hit, which beats the target AC by 5.
I roll 5d6 for damage.

Alternately you could roll a d10/d20/d6 (reroll 6) to determine how many shots hit.

I treated these guns like spells. Standard action to fire, not possible to do a full-round attack with them.

interesting I like the idea of the SMG

Spycraft did a very well-done d20 modern implementation. You can also try Gamma World or Stargate.
