I don't seem to see a Limit on how many Ioun Stones you can have floating about you, am I missing it or is there no limit?

I am imagining a Character with like 20 of these floating about him, he would be like his own Solar System!...

An Ioun Stone is an unslotted item. There is no limit, and you can indeed get quite the little solar system going.

That was more or less the "thing" of the uber lich Larloch in the Forgotten Realms . . . he had tons of ioun stones floating around him all of the time.

I remember a few of the FR archmages being described that way. Congenio Ioun himself being one of them (in FR, he showed up as a Netherese wizard in the Netheril boxed set from the ancient past).

Another story of that nature featured an elven tomb with the preserved body of its occupant sitting on a throne with a cloud of hundreds of ioun stones circling around.

Have never seen a limit on how many one could have... guess a lot.

There is a limit on receiving the same bonus from different sources. Only the strongest bonus works. So there might be a limit there.

You are limited only by how many you can find or create.

I always thought it'd be fun to play a lantern archon with Ioun stones called Sol. =)
