Bonded item and PFS

Where do I look for the rules on wizard bonded items in pfs? I'm sure I've seen it somewhere but can't remember how they make this work in pfs. I am an arcane duelist bard and going to hit level 5 soon where I'll get the bonded item ability on a weapon as a wizard.

Guide to Organised Play

On a quick search, I can't see any mention of wizard bonded items. Magic item creation is not allowed. I don't know if that includes adding abilities to a bonded item. You could ask on the PFS forum.

The rules for PFS are much the same as for regular play. I don't recall anything being different. Was there something in particular you were wondering about?

The only magic item creation allowed in PFS play is in making the bonded item. As far as I remember from the PFS forums, it works the same as in the regular rules. If this thread gets moved in the morning to the PFS forums, you may get a more detailed answer.

I guess my question is just that I'll get to cast an extra spell basically with the item in hand, but won't be able to add magic abilities as if I had the item creation feats (costing me less gold) because item creation feats are not legal in PFS?

You don't need to use the feats to do so. Josh ruled that the normal rules apply to bonded items, so you will indeed get to enchant them.

That might change given that Josh isn't running things there anymore, so YMMV.

Yes, I imagine the new powers-that-be will be issuing new rulings on this.

Item crafting is broken in standardized play. It should be banned with no exceptions IMO.

I'm not sure but I don't think bonded items get around the GP per limit based on your faction. That would significantly limit what you can do with bonded item crafting.

Limited or not it's a lot of free gold.

For example if your PA cap limits you to 8k purchases you can upgrade your bonded weapon to +2 for 4k. That essentially gives you 4k gold.

Maybe this makes up for the Wizard having to shell out 100s if not 1,000s in scrolls and scribing costs for their spellbooks?

Is someone calling the Bard broken? This I've got to hear.

I would imagine you can only use the Extra Spell ability from those spells that are your Wizard spells (as opposed to your bard spells) and that you would only be able to use the creation with respect to your Wizards spells/level.

Those are my humble thoughts.

That will really suck for him, since he doesn't have any levels of wizard.

I think you are misunderstanding. His bard is getting arcane bond as an alternate class feature. If you read it the way you suggest there would be zero point to taking it because every feature in arcane bond says "the wizard can...".

If he were dipping wizard in a multi class you'd be spot on.

Edit: D'oh... nevermind just read your F/U post.
