Adventure Path for only 1 Player running multiple characters and 1 DM

Pathfinder Adventure Path General Discussion

What adventure path would you recommend for a situation that had just a DM and one player? The player would run multiple characters. I do not know them very well but I have the first adventure in King maker and the Serpent Skull one.

I don't think Kingmaker would be good, it is far too open ended and I think it would be better for when I can find extra players.

Serpants skull has all the role player with your fellow ship wrecked NPC's, but I see it as better than Kingmaker for 1 PC.

I am also open to buying a new adventure path. I would prefer it to be more straight forward and involve less roleplayers, for obvious reasons. I would also prefer it to be Pathfinder and not 3.5 but that is not essential. So I am saying I am open to purchasing other adventure paths.

I appreciate any advice you may have!

just a suggestion: it might be more interesting to try something along these lines, have your player run a single character with some cool buffs or special abilities.

maybe consider running as a Gestalt type character. or let them level up as two classes simultaneously.

then run a npc that only has single class levels in a support roll. or let the pc run a second character in a support roll maybe a level lower than the main character.

this will help distinguish the players characters let them get into roll playing one character while allowing them two run combat with two (or more)

now that i got my two cents in as for adventure paths, i think kingmaker would run alright actually if you make some minor adjustments to it

I run this type of game quite a bit. I've run Runelords with one player (3 characters), and I'm running Legacy of Fire with one player (4 characters). I was the sole player for Shackled City (until the 4th TPK), and I just started Council of Thieves (I'm running 4 PCs).

Side Track Topic:
In fact, I was stranded in the recent snowstorm in the midwest coming back from a game this weekend. It sucked, but the game was great.

Yes, quite a bit of roleplaying goes out the window, but the player(s) are usually pretty good about creating interesting characters and reacting for each PC individually.

I'm not trying to convince you one way or another. My point would be that running 1 on 1 can be fun, and that either Kingmaker or Serpent's Skull could work fine.

Shadow Lodge

Not an AP but... 1on1 adventures are a good resource for GM plus player adventures. They are all one offs and designed largely for a specific class but they are fun.

Thanks for all the replies.

I think I will try what I have. Serpents Skull it is.

second darkness or Council of theives would be my vote.

Second darkness for us went into the 3rd book before we had more than two characters/players in the party and it was one player with one character for a long time
