My Kingmaker Character problem

Kingmaker

Dark Archive

I am having issues with my character in Kingmaker.
The group consists of a Wizard (Evoker), Monk/Rogue, Fighter/Rogue, and a Bard/Alchemist.

I first brought in an Inquisitor of Cayden Cailean, but he really didn't fit due to two of the characters being evil.

My second character is a Gnome Bleachling Lore Oracle. However, I feel I step on the wizard and bard's toes a bit with knowledge checks, and step on the leader's toes a bit with Diplomacy checks. He can run up and cure people obviously. He has a lot of knowledge and craft skills. I kind of feel like I made a really good NPC.

So, I offer it up to you, my friends on the boards here. What do you think I should have done? Should I have made a Life Oracle or Straight-up Cleric for the group?

You've got one heck of a group to play with. Apologies if I use some WoW terms. I'm assuming you're an awesome roleplayer and could create an interesting character regardless of a fight, so I won't delve into backstory.

From the look of it, I'm assuming each person does the following:

Evoker: Damage Dealer/High Intelligence knowledge character.

Monk/Rogue: Sneaky guy who moves fast and uses skills, mostly acrobatics.

Fighter/Rogue: Front line or another sneaky person? Perhaps some kind of sniper?

Bard/Alchemist: Charismatic character who buffs (assuming he isn't stepping on toes with the Fighter being a Jekyll/Hyde Alchemist or stepping on toes with the wizard by using bombs).

I would have made a cleric for the group, personally. Assuming no one is using medium armor, you can have your pick of the litter. You're able to heal, and there's a chance (since I don't know) that you could be the front line, since it almost seems like there's no front liner. You could pick up heavy armor proficiency and wade into war.

Create a Cleric of Gorum and you'll get along with the evil and not so evil characters, you can still channel positive energy and, after watching the Dwarf Cleric of Gorum in another AP, you'd be doing very well. Also, since you're the cleric of "punching someone in the face for looking at you badly", you don't have to worry about being expected to be diplomatic unless you're in the middle of parlay (again, something you'd leave the fighter to do).

Yeah, I have some neat backstories for both the characters (I like to write).

You are correct for the most part. The Fighter/Rogue does play tricky, but does get in on the front-line action with a bastard sword and shield (5 figher, 2 rogue).

I think I will hand the gnome over to the GM to be an NPC sage, and delve into cleric land.

Thank you for the sound advice!
