Ok as the title explains, I am wondering about readying a charge against a charge to combine the effects of brace and spirited charge. There is no real gaming intent to use this but I am wondering if the rules get you there anyway.
You would need let them come to do this with a lance.
Rhino charge:You may ready a charge, though you may only move up to your speed on the charge.
Readying a Weapon against a Charge: You can ready weapons with the brace feature, setting them to receive charges. A readied weapon of this type deals double damage if you score a hit with it against a charging character.
Now there are two parts to readying an action. 1. You pick the action and 2 the intent of the readied action, or condition
Now I could see it as the charge being the action you pick to ready and then your intent to brace your lance and counter charge them.
Anyway, I personally don't truly feel it quite gets there but I am wondering what other people think of how the rules play out in this scenario.

No, these can't be combined. The rhino charge would be a readied action. Bracing the weapon would be a readied action. You can't ready two actions.
Outside of the games mechanics, the concept of bracing a weapon to receive a charge is to brace it against the ground, a rock, a wall, using your foot, etc. in a way to make it more stable and less giving. What your are visualizing when you think of bracing and countercharging sound to me like couching the lance, which is what gives the lance double damage on a charge in the first place.
The two parts for a readied action are 1) you pick the action, and 2) you pick the event that triggers it. Your "intent to brace your lance and counter charge them," is just another way of stating your action, it isn't a triggering event.
The triggering event would be something like, "If the orc comes into range," "If the orc steps into a clear charge line from behind the tree," "When the wizard casts haste on my mount," "When the rogue moves into a flanking position on the other side of my target," etc.

The brace feature of a weapon lets it do twice the damage against a charging character. Its a boon for the defender.
Lances have a feature that lets them deal more damage when used on a charge, a boon for the charging attacker.
Since you can only ready one action you'd have to pick to either: ready your own charge or brace against their charge.
