spells and effects of items

Rules Questions

the GM im playing with put use in a Dungeon with high tech items, monsters est. A old ship that we not find it seems to be here for 1000s of years and the monsters are kill ppl and we have to find out why? thats fine, ok, i get the idea, cool, its going to happen suner or later all GM do this once in a blue moon. my point is one of the items we find looks like a Grende (thats off board but you get the idea). when we playing with it to see how it work he herd something and throw it in the back and left the room after a few sec the hole room felld up with smoke. he sayed that make a fort save (to the ppl that want to see what happen) if failed you pass out if saved you feal light headed. so far so good. this next part im calling a RED BULL CARP CARD on he sayed later that
Elven Immunities: Elves are immune to magic sleep effects and get a +2 racial saving throw bonus against enchantment spells and effects.
dont help!

true i dont know if it was a sleep Grende but if you pass out like under the sleep effect would you get Elven Immunities on the saves? if hes useing the pathfinder rules.

Unconsciousness != sleep.

Elves get no special bonus against poison that renders them unconscious, drowning, suffocating, whatever. They're just immune to magic that makes them sleep and resistant to enchantments.

This sounds like the first.

Yes, that would be a good example of a magical sleep effect to which elves are immune.

That's a sleep potion. Made with the spell sleep, which involves a will save. It's very specifically a sleep enchantment, to which your elf is immune.

You referenced poison gas (not an enchantment, fort save) that resulted in unconsciousness (passing out).

These are different things.
