Rules Questions

Do the bonuses for the feats add to the calculated CMB for the sorceror's 1st level ability with the vine? RAW I'm not sure, it could either way depending how strict you are. RAI? I'm not sure either to be honest.

Any thoughts?

CMB = Base attack bonus + Strength modifier + special size modifier

So the feats would be added to it, all the ability says is that you can replace the "normal" CMB with your class level + chr mod.

However, if you were to use Enlarge Person you wouldn't get the bonus for the size as that is part of the CMB you are overwriting (which for most characters isn't that much of an issue, Large gives you a +1 and small a -1). You also wouldn't take a penalty for being smaller than medium as well.

Therein lies the problem. If you have the feat then your normal CMB would include the bonus wouldn't it? (as opposed to the base CMB of BAB + Str mod.+ Size mod.)

(Or is it because the bonus to the manuever is untyped, it would apply to every trip attempt regardless of how it's attempted...) (beginning to think this is the correct answer, but would appreciate any sort of consensus out there on it.)

The CMB is composed of those 3 things only, if you have a bonus to that, you get to add it to the CMB when you make your roll. The bonus isn't part of the "CMB" however.

All the spell does is effectively make your chances of success higher, a full caster will have the same chance as a full BAB class, and it gives you the bonus of your primary statistic, just like a full BAB class would be using STR mod. The majority of the time, size is a wash as it will be medium characters, in the case of a small character they are actually getting a hidden benefit of not taking a penalty with this use of the ability (as size IS par of the CMB).
