Thanks for posting. This means I should update as soon as I'm home.
Does anyone know this also solved the Goodreader issues. I was under the impression that Goodreader was using the IPad pdf engine - so assume that should be fine as well.
It was an issue for me as I GM using the IPad but you could not read some of the faction mission notes on it. I always feared one day I would forget to print them and would be stuck ...

There was another thread, but yes, the Goodread issue was also resolved.
It uses the same underlying viewer.

So, how are you lads getting files up to the iPad? I purchased one just for gaming, and can't seem to get my newly purchased pdf's up to the darn thing to be able to look at them. Do I need to purchase an app to do this? Recommendations? Otherwise, this is now a very expensive paperwieght and I'm going to go buy a laptop to do it.

A few ways to do it. You can just add file through Itunes, which will add the file to your Apples Ebook reader, or you can purchase a PDF reader and they each have thier own methods.
Example Goodreader you can add them through Itunes in the app section or you can download a free program from good reader called USB File Transfer which is easy and fast.

Clung, making an assumption, your gaming PDFs are on the same computer your iPad is synced to iTunes on.
1. Plug in your ipad and let it sync
2. From itunes select your ipad from the left
3. From the tabs accross the top select, Apps
4. Scroll to the bottom of the app screen there should be a "file sharing" section.
5. Select iBooks (this is apple's free ereader software, I forget if it is default, or you have to download it from iTunes (if the later go download it from itunes add it to your iPad and then come back to this step.
6. Here I get fuzzy, but if you select iBooks, it should show the files you currently have shared with it on the right, there should be an Add button
7. just find the file on your local machine and select it through the dialogue
8. sync
Thats should be it, nice and easy i know :(
Good Reader is another good app for this, I think it is not free. You have to use the same mechanism to get them on to your iPad.
Although, I think you can actually go straight to the downloads page on paizo and down load the PDF's directly to good reader.

Conversely, if you are using a mac to sync to the ipad just go to the main iTunes library (It doesn't matter if you are looking at audiobooks, music, videos, etc.) and just drag the PDFs into iTunes. This will add the PDFs to the iBooks "library." From there you can choose to either sync the entire library or individual pieces just like you would choose how to sync music, videos, pictures, etc.

+1
Then I grouped them with custom tags by clicking & "control" to get "get info" up. Like you would music or movies.
Love the iBooks app for organizing the PDFs.

Thank the Maker!
(Now I've got to get me an iPad...)
You won't regret it.
If the "FaceTime" chat is important to you to video chat with friends I'd wait till the first of the year to March (1st quarter?) to get one.
My 2 year old well get mine and I'll get a new one then. ;-). He was showing grandpa how to operate one the other day.
Although I probably should put parental controls on it for Family Guy Blue Harvest but in a sad way it makes me happy that he likes those so much. It made him like Star Wars.
Any ways they are great!

Hmm.. iBooks would not let me upload files, nor would just dragging something in to iTunes (I use a computer, not a Mac).
I did find a free app called calibre that converted the .pdf's to an ebook format and moved the .pdf's up to iBook.
It just takes iBooks forever to render the pages so they are viewable. Going to try using just the chapters of each book next, see if they render faster so it's useable.
So far, I'm very underwhelmed by the iPad. Kinda wishing I spent the $900 on a laptop instead.
I'm trying to use it for Kingmaker, the maps and rulesets and a kingdom sheet in excel, but it's just not working out for me. The excel document won't work, it's too advanced and complex.
Oh well, at least netflix works on it. It's now an expensive portable tv.

Clong your best bet is Good Reader, and they provide instructions with pictures here
They also have a wifi sync
