I was thinking up a character idea that at this point is just mostly theoretical of a Bard (Sandman) 5, Pathfinder chronicler 3. i was just curious if i was understanding how the PRC's abilities stacked correctly.
So i think the character would have Bardic Music up to Slumber? (Bard 5 +3 -2 for bardic music)
and since Sandman variant looses Bardic Knowledge, the BN from the PRc would just be level 3 rather than level 8 like with a normal Bard?
to be honest dont kow if the idea is good but i thought it worked well for figuring out the rules :)

Correct. It's also worth noting that the Pathfinder Chronicler is a downright terrible PrC, and not the stuff of player characters. Awesomely flavorful for NPCs, however.

I thought the same thing. Since the best lead-in classes for it seem to be bard, druid or ranger (iconic wandering spellcasters), I don't see why it doesn't increase spell levels.
That would help take the suck out of it. :P
