Grapple with Multiple Creatures

Rules Questions

I was going to post some questions about how this works, but after doing some research, I am going to instead post a couple examples for review. To make sure I am handling this correctly. And maybe still a couple questions.

Quote:
Multiple Creatures: Multiple creatures can attempt to grapple one target. The creature that first initiates the grapple is the only one that makes a check, with a +2 bonus for each creature that assists in the grapple (using the Aid Another action). Multiple creatures can also assist another creature in breaking free from a grapple, with each creature that assists (using the Aid Another action) granting a +2 bonus on the grappled creature's combat maneuver check.

Example #1: Wrestler and Aider want to grapple Victim

  • Step 1 - Aider moves into melee range with Victim and attempts to Aid Another (standard action) by making a Combat Maneuver roll (1d20 +CMB) vs CMD 10. Success means that the Aider provides a +2 bonus to help a friend grapple Victim as long as the attempt is made before Aider's next turn.
  • Step 2 - Wrestler moves into melee range with Victim and makes a Combat Maneuver roll (standard action, 1d20 +CMB +2 from Aid Another) vs Victim's CMD to establish a grapple. Success means that Victim is grappled by Wrestler and both gained the grappled condition.

Question 1 - Does the Aider also gain the grappled condition? And at what point?
*I would think YES.

Question 2 - Does the Aider provoke an attack of opportunity from Victim when trying to Aid Another to help establish a grapple?
*I would think YES, but only having to hit CMD 10 makes the penalty from damage not as bad, and it uses up Victim's attack of opportunity.

Example #2: Aider wants to help free Victim break the grapple

  • Step 1 - Aider moves into melee range with Wrestler and attempts to Aid Another (standard action) by making a Combat Maneuver roll (1d20 +CMB) vs CMD 10. Success means that the Aider provides a +2 bonus to help Victim break the grapple as long as the attempt is made before Aider's next turn.
  • Step 2 - Victim makes a Combat Maneuver roll (standard action, 1d20 +CMB +2 from Aid Another) vs Wrestler's CMD to break the grapple. Success means that Victim is free and everyone involved loses the grappled condition.

Question 3 - If Victim is a humanoid without 2 free hands (i.e. holding a weapon in 1 hand), does she receive the -4 penalty on the Combat Maneuver roll to break the grapple?
*The rules don't seem to spell this out, but I would think NO penalty to break the grapple but YES penalty to reverse the grapple since you are attempting to grapple a foe with the reverse attempt.

Example #3: Aider wants to help prevent Victim from escaping/reversing grapple

  • Step 1 - Aider moves into melee range with Victim and attempts to Aid Another (standard action) by making a Combat Maneuver roll (1d20 +CMB) vs CMD 10. Success means that the Aider provides a +2 bonus to the Wrestler's CMD to help resist the next escape or reverse attempt by Victim as long as the attempt is made before Aider's next turn.
  • Step 2 - Wrestler adds +2 to her CMD when the Victim makes a Combat Maneuver roll (standard action, 1d20 +CMB +2 from Aid Another) to break or reverse the grapple. Failure by Victim means that Wrestler maintains the grapple.

And questions unrelated to the specific examples...

Question 4 - Aid Another can be used to help initiate a grapple or help break a grapple. Can it be used to help reverse a grapple?
*I would think NO since this option is not mentioned in the Multiple Creatures entry.

Question 5 - If Wrestler successfully grapples Victim but Victim is not adjacent to Wrestler, then Wrestler needs to move Victim to an adjacent open space (or else the grapple fails), but does Aider ever need to be adjacent to the Victim too?
