3.5 extra smite in Pathfinder

Conversions

Hi,

I'm currently dming the Savage Tide AP.
We began in 3.5 but quickly switch to Pathfinder when the beta was released.
The Paladin character has the extra smite feat (that grants 3 extra use of the smite evil ability per day) which is now, I think, overpowered.
How would you convert that feat ?

Thanks,

I'd say just have it grant one extra smite instead of three.

just don't allow the Feat in Pathfinder RPG, Smite is very powerful and a fixed amount/day in fine

Or let it let him use this

Improved Smite: treat your paladin level as four higher for the purous of smite. This can let you go pass your character level.

So should give them one smites earlier +4 damage when he does. This balances it out a little better.

I would suggest either reducing the feat to 2 extra smites, or just leaving it be if the game is at higher levels or is going to reach them. By higher levels the Pali has enough smites for every fight, and while he might double-smite on a fight or two, most likely he'll still be wishing he had a different feat that expanded his combat options.

Pathfinder increased the number of smites compared to 3.5. Why should the feat suddenly become a problem?

Because 3.5 smite and PF smite are different beasts so add +X PF smites is not the same of adding +X old ones.

Sai this, what about "this feat adds 1 smite, plus 1 for every 10 paladin levels" and you cannot take it more than once?

(10 can be 6 or 7 if you want, just an example).
