Hello,

I had exactly the same issue trying to buy the PDF of Pathfinder Unchained, i had a "Insufficient founds" error message during the order validation which I cannot explain.
I use a french debit card with enough money on it to buy that PDF, that's for sure, so I guess it must be some caused by some technical issue.

Hope it will get fix soon, I can't wait to read that book ;)

You're right, I had never noticed the "bound" word in the helpless condition description.
I was misinterpreting the "This works like a pin effect" part of the "Tie up" rules.
It seems legit to me (and quite logical if you think about it).

Hi Knightpredator,

Being tied doesn't give the Gnoll the helpless condition, so you can't coup de grâce him.

Quote:
Tie Up: If you have your target pinned, otherwise restrained, or unconscious, you can use rope to tie him up. This works like a pin effect, but the DC to escape the bonds is equal to 20 + your Combat Maneuver Bonus (instead of your CMD).

Hi,

I'm currently dming the Savage Tide AP.
We began in 3.5 but quickly switch to Pathfinder when the beta was released.
The Paladin character has the extra smite feat (that grants 3 extra use of the smite evil ability per day) which is now, I think, overpowered.
How would you convert that feat ?

Thanks,

Hi Dhampir,

Check Dungeon 142 scenario : Here there be monsters.
There's a lot of good 3.5 stuff about the isle of dread, not exactly PF buf it's very easy to convert.

I'm actually DMing a pathinder-upgraded version of the Savage Tide Adventure Path (Dungeon 142 being the fourth installment of this AP) and we have a great time on the isle of dread (or as we say in France : L'ile de la Terreur !)

I think Freddy's right, if you play RAW, it's allowed.

Nevertheless, according to the sneak attack description, I would not allow it at my table :

Quote:
The rogue must be able to see the target well enough to pick out a vital spot and must be able to reach such a spot.

I would say that displacement protects from sneak attacks, as any concealment does, but not from AoO.

Hi,

I just begin dming STAP and we use the spell point system of the unearthed arcane.
We also use a 78 points buy system (max 18, min 5 before appliying racial modifiers) to create PC.

I think i'll use the -CON instead of -10.
