Effects of Back-to-Back Intimidates in Combat

Rules Questions

Say I successfully use Intimidate to demoralize an opponent, and beat the DC by 5. Per the Intimidate skill, the opponent is shaken for two rounds.

Under the Fear section in the SRD, it says..

Becoming Even More Fearful: Fear effects are cumulative. A shaken character who is made shaken again becomes frightened, and a shaken character who is made frightened becomes panicked instead. A frightened character who is made shaken or frightened becomes panicked instead.

So, if in the next round I successfully Intimidate the opponent again, would he become Frightened?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Short answer: No, the effects do not stack. All you do is extend the duration of the shaken condition.

This matter has been discussed several times before. Here is a link to one thread: LINKY

Thanks Jace, and thanks for the heads up on the previous threads.

ps.. thanks for politely suggesting I use the Search function instead of, "GAH, NOOOB..EVER HEARD OF GOOGLE?" :)

Glad to help. And I always find that being civil and helpful is the best way to keep the forums a nice place to be.
