Donkeys and Two Weapon Fighting

Rules Questions

Liberty's Edge

Two questions:

1)How much weight can pack animals like Donkeys carry?

2)About two weapon fighting, say I have two attacks (+8/+3). I can attack twice in one round at +8 and then at +3. If I have TWF I get a second attack with my off hand weapon. So say I have a rapier and a dagger, Would I attack be +6(-2 penalty) with the rapier, +1(-2 penalty) with the rapier for my second attack. Now I have my attack with my off hand weapon. It is at -2, but what is my attack bonus for it. Do I use the +8 or the +3? Or is this completely the wrong way to go about this?

Sorry if that was hard to follow I mostly new to the game and I couldn't find an answer to this in the core book.

I couldn't find stats for a pack mule so I will use a large horse instead.
With a strength of 20 they would have a light load capacity of up to 399 lbs. Medium load would be 798 lbs and Heavy would be up to 1200 lbs. It could drag up to 6000 lbs. This is all from the SRD and could be wrong but is my best answer.

I believe the off hand attack is used at your highest BAB (+8).

The above are my understanding and not to be considered accurate. :)

Your attacks would be +6 with rapier, +6 with offhand, then +1 with rapier secondary attack.

Donkeys, however, are not eligible for TWF. :P

If your attack is at +8/+3 and you choose to use TWF then you would attack at +6/+6/+1. If you had Improved TWF from the feat or class skill you would attack at +6/+6/+1/+1.

I believe a donkey has similar statistics to a pony, whose carrying capacity you can find in the Bestiary.

I would rate a mule with the size and carrying capacity of a horse too, but if you do that, you should also increase its cost. IIRC you will have to go back to 1e to find an official difference in price between them. 20gp sounds familiar.

that's +6 main hand/ +6 Off hand/ +1 main hand (and in the case of improved two weapon fighting)/ +1 Off hand

Donkeys do have the same stats as ponies. Mules have the stats of ponies, but with the advanced template. (+4 to all stats save INT, +2 Natural Armor)

A mule would not, however, be able to carry as much as a horse because horses are large creatures and mules are medium.

As for cost... yeah, make it up.

Donkeys can be use with TWF you grab the tails. Warning the donkeys and PETA do not like it.

Donkeys used with the Dazzling Display feat add +2 to your Intimation check. Donkeys are heavy bludgeoning weapons, so the penalty is higher that a rapier.

Can you take weapon specialization (donkey)?

What are the penalties for using an oversized donkey? Does doing so require two hands?

Yes. -2, Yes...you don't have hands. You can't dual wield donkey's without hands.

Donkeys are pretty small. Using pony stats sounds about right. They're MUCH smaller than horses.
