This is my new PbP, it’s a pathfinder horror game, lv2 characters, 15pt build, average starting wealth +50gp, everything from the core book and APG, 2 traits, no hero points (yea this is a horror game, no heroics), looking for +/-5 players. You can play any alignment except any evil.
Set in a border hamlet between Andoran and Cheliax, about a day’s travel from Piren’s Bluff. The hamlet is called Scarlet Hope. The town has a population of 50 inhabitants, 40 of them are human, and the rest are almost equally divided on the other playable races. This place has befallen some very hard times; all of the town’s children have been murdered, in a series of events that lasted less than a week. Even worse about half of the citizens have fallen to madness, the rest now living in fear from their mad neighbours. The People’s Council has decided that this fallen hamlet is to be let go, since it is in the mountains, it isn’t much of a loss, but being compassionate people, they have sent a group of Adventurers to rescue the trapped citizens and to figure what is behind this incident.
Some rules and notes:
1)I still haven’t been able to work out maps, so no maps
2)No PvP
3)Please post at least 1/week, ok sometimes I may have difficulty in posting sometimes so please bear with me
So anyone interested please post here! Recruiting will be open for 2 weeks.

Here's my (John Woodford's) investigator. I still need to finalize equipment, but everything else should be there. One clarification: For starting funds, do you mean average starting at 1st level +50 gp?
Then his master took the wrong thief. There was probably some sort of politics behind it, but that didn't matter to the Council of Thieves. The only thing that saved Elendyr were his halfelven senses, and his habit of suspicion. He got out of Westcrown in a hurry, fled the country, and fetched up in Piren's Bluff. He's been keeping body and soul together by doing freelance investigations--enough to live off of, but not enough to draw attention. Now, though, Piren's Bluff looks like it may be changing allegiances to Cheliax. It's time for Elendyr to move on, and what better way to get money for the trip than by investigating a bloody murder? (Besides, maybe there'll be an opportunity to become missing and presumed dead...no one hunts a dead man....)

Here is my concept, soon the sheet:
Gharrka was born in a tribe of orcs in the depths of the Aspodell Mountains. Her mother, like some other women, was caught by the orcs during a raid in one of the villages nearby. The orcs kept the women alive so they could breed and give birth to a new lineage of half-orcs.
Gharrka was only one year old when a party of heroes assaulted the tribe's caverns to rescue the imprisoned women.
They found many children, and were kind enough to take them out, to give them a chance to start a new life in the human civilization. Gharrka was among these "lucky" children.
She never saw her mother, and later knew that most of the women died soon after the rescue, shocked by what they experienced.
Then, Gharrka was taken by the family of an Andoran farmer. She grew with the other two children of the man, but never felt one of the family. The younger "sister" was scared by her, and the older "brother" hated her because she was able to knock him down in their childish fights, as she was stronger than any human boy.
Her adopting family was humble, and she used to sleep with cows and pigs in the stable, seeking warm in the cold nights. Gharrka was sure a wretched creature, always covered with mud and hay.
At eleven, her life changed when a priestess of Shelyn, who was walking the farmlands following the mysterious song of a songbird, saw her working in the crops, and knew that she was One Loved by the Goddess. The priestess took her from her family. The farmer was sad because Gharrka was of great help in the farm, but understood that this was a unique chance for her to have an happier life.
Gharrka was washed, her hair dressed, and so, in the hands of the Shelyn's priestess, her exotic and wild beauty was revealed. She put her strength at the service of Shelyn, becoming a Paladine of Art and Love. Her duties are to protect art masterpieces from evild-doers who want to destroy or lay their filthy hands on them. And there are always artist in need of protection. Nature too, as the greater masterpiece, often need her strong arm.
And then, she has sweared to fight the acts of raping, hunting and punishing those who destroy a woman's life, as it was done to her mother. A sin that those who have faith in the Goddess of Love despise as the most ominous.

Hey, here's my character concept, character sheet will follow if you approve of it:
Personality: Being from a peasent class family and raised among wizards and nobles children, she is sensative about certain subjects of her life. She attempts to exude an aura of nobility that sits awkwardly on her shoulders. In the persuit of knowledge she is singularly focused and will lose herself in her studies if allowed to. She also has an extreme hatred of demons and will go to irrational lengths to remove them from the material plane, if not out right kill them.
Appearance: A green eyed, dark haired woman with fair skin, a typical Chelaxian woman who wears soft scholarly robes of emerald and ruby. Her pack bulges with the amount of things kept inside of it and she always smells faintly of jasmine and sulfur.

I would like to post my interest in this setting. I will have a character concept/sheet up as soon as I can. Also, do you have a preferred method of dice rolling and HP generation?
The boards have a BBCode dice utility, with the following format (replace angle brackets with square brackets):
<dice>1d20 + 5</dice>
which will produce output like this:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
(I didn't know about that for the first couple of PbP posts I did, but I eventually figured it out.)

yea thats a good concept, but i have a question for you, why would she be working for the Peoples Council of Andoran? this might need a little work but yea i'm happy to work that character in
Sorry, I forgot to take into account the Peoples Council. Perhaps in the grander scheme of things she is working as a double agent? Pretending to spy on Chelax for the Andorans while truthfully still loyal to Chelax? I think something like that would add interesting dynamics but if that is too complicated for the scope of this campaign then I'd be happy to change her to an Andoran girl who's parents were murdered by demons and she was sent off to Andoran wizard college. She would still be patriotic to Andoran ideals and it would require a minimum amount of modification.
I'm fine with either way, so let me know which one you think will fit in best with your campaign.

This is Disturbed1...
Background: The younger of a pair of orphaned brothers who were brought up in a temple of Abadar near Piren's Bluff, Copper has been raised his entire life knowing little of family. His upbringing shaped his views, and while he does not always agree with the law of the land, he finds a strict set of rules is the surest path to know what is correct in life.
His brother was killed in Scarlet Hope, after he had gone insane, and Copper has volunteered to go to the small mountain village to find out what happened, and how to keep it from happening again, to more people.
He is very devoted to his church, and enjoys the travel from one town to the next almost as much as he enjoys the work he does once he gets to the towns he is sent to aid.
Personality: While Copper has a good natured attitude most of the time, his mind is never far from the matter at hand.He follows a strict set of rules for his life, which he follows despite how ohers might feel about them.
Appearance:
With shoulder length black hair and deep blue eyes, average height and build, Copper's appearance is much like any number of other humans who pass this way or that through life. What makes Copper stand out, however, are the few somewhat large scars adorn his neck and arms. These, he uses to remind himself of his past failures, so he never forgets how important law and order are to life.
Character sheet coming soon.

Background: A woman of sharp intellect and driving passion. Heavily influenced by the death of her parents during an Inquisitor raid on her home town to remove a demon cult, she was orphaned and taken to a Chelaxian wizards college at a very young age after an occult symbol of Asmodeus was found scarred into her back, she has been heavily influenced by the kingdom's dogma and is deeply patriotic. She believes in the rightness of Chelaxian dominance and that can make her seem abbrasive at times. However, like most wizards, her pursuit of knowledge will generally come before most other concerns.
She is currently on assignment from the Chelaxian Inquisitors working as a double agent inside the Andoran Peoples Council. Recently she has been assigned to an adventuring group and assist in rescuing the people from Scarlet Hope.

well Disturbed1, since spell components are a key part of most caster, they carry a bag of spell components, no extra cost (unless the spell component is expensive then you pay for it), though it is in a bag so it can be stolen/ect and that may or may not play a part in the game, so yea about 1gp for the bag and maybe 1-2lbs should cover it
grufflehead
Full up yet? Sounds like a nice dark and gritty game. Most of the usual bases look covered, but maybe a Ranger or Bard would fit in - someone 'skilled' anyway. I'll hold off making a sheet until you decide if you've got space, but I'll probably mod one of my existing PCs Earnest Carbrook as he is not in a game currently.

ulgulanoth, is it possible for me to include in my background a search for a childhood love that is rumored to have settled near Scarlet Hope. Having worked with the Peoples Council in the past he begs for a chance to be sent on this rescue mission.
Also, is there one type of enemy or another I should try to build around?
Celestial Half-Porc
Velios' Background:
Elendyr
I've got Elendyr finalized.
OK, I lied. HP at second level:
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Can't beat that with a stick....
(Incidentally, for those of you not familiar with it, the BBCode dice utility keeps rolls through edits. So if I'd rolled a 1, I couldn't just keep fiddling with the posting and re-previewing it until I got an 8.)
