I have a player constantly using Detect Scrying and I was wondering if anyone could recall a way that could counter it without the caster knowing? Basically, anything that can actually bypass Detect Scrying.
I seem to recall some spell in 3.5e, or maybe it was a magic item, that did manage to avoid that spell's effect.
If not, no biggie, it just means one less 4th-level spell slot for the PC; and I doubt they'd spend a ton of their treasure crafting wands and scrolls of the spell.

Dispelling isn't an option, because if you're scrying you're by nature not going to be anywhere near the target use dispel. Besides, scrying sensors can be nonmagically detected with a DC 24 (+/-1) Perception check, and countered with lead sheeting (the latter is only really a benefit for home bases and such).

Well the person who was wishing to counter the Detect Scrying would of course have to have some general way of knowing that they were being detected first and for most. Plus their target needs to fail a will save, something someone who has Detect Scrying up would normally be less likely then most to succeed at.
The main tactic would be to scry on someone else whose hopefully more then 40 feet away from the person using the detection spell.
I'd suggest a change up of tactics if your people can't scry but absolutely need to be able to watch a viewing window picture of the target. Use spies or other spells. This was always a good use for familiars.
