The price of failure

Rise of the Runelords

Has anyone's group failed to come out on top in the final events of this AP?
If so, what happened?

I do believe that is detailed in the 6th book. There was an obvious 1 of 2 events. Then other things you could tie into the same thought processes.

I know what the 6th adventure says. I'm curious what people actually played.

Sorry, I misunderstood your question.

My group made it through, so I can't help what was actually played, but I can tell you what I had planned just in case they did lose.

Our next game was already decided on to be Crimson Throne and I had done some work tying Runelords to it. So I figured I would recruit the new successful PCs (assuming they survived Crimson Throne) to clean up after the Runelord party.

Now I have the reverse option should it come to it.
