What to do...?

Dark Archive

I've been planning a campaign for a few months now and I've been running with the idea of Star Wars. Not the system, the plot. Mostly because I want to see how many of my friends guess and it would be a good laugh. Ideally if I had the money, I would be using miniatures from the warmachine and hordes primal system, using the Skhorne as the "stormtroopers" of my world.

The problem that I have is how far do I go with this? How do I make magic work as a replacement to the force. Since Darth Vader is not some sucky wizard or sorcerer or a lame fighter. (I don't actually have a problem with these classes) but some kind of uber combo of the two. I also have access to the Lich King from the 1st edition of World of Warcraft where the characters were more like D&D characters. So how would I go about converting him to Pathfinder?

Help is needed.

I don't have any specific advice on how to do this, but I just wanted to say to be careful how you do it or your players will think you are trying to copy Final Fantasy XII rather than Star Wars, since that game borrows a lot from the movie.

Easy, make Vader a gestalt fighter/sorcerer.

Silver Crusade

I say drop magic, go psionics :) Make Vader a psychic warrior or mindblade. Or make a new Psi-knight Class :) (I did)

|Yes the Force is Psionics, so you are looking at Psion/Mindblade as your Jedi Councilor, and Psiwarrior/Mindblade as your Jedi Guardian.

Darth Vader is 2nd level Commoner and a few levels of Psiwarrior and say 5 levels of Mindblade :). Just give him Black Field Plate and Chain and a Cape :) A bunch of Generals and the Emperor Can be a Powerful Psion with a few levels of MindBlade.

The Army can be humans (the Emperor was predjudice) in gleaming silver plate with white penants :)

Liberty's Edge

Bizarre idea, or at least it will sound like it, but if you don't want to convert psionics to PF, you could make Vader a LE Antipaladin with Access to Arcane abilities that mimic the Force abilities he was known for, Lightning, Telekinesis, there are spells on the Sorcerer/Wizard lists in the corebook and the APG, so it shouldn't be too difficult, As for the Lich King angle, that'd be... a little different, maybe a little more difficult?

Hmmm Lich King.
Undead? Check
Fighter? Used to be a paladin. Arthas Menethil wasn't a punk when it came to combat, either. He is now a death knight (I'd go anti-paladin.)
Cleric? In 3.5 terms you bet. In PFRPG with the changes to turning/rebukeing, dunno, maybe. But he can definately channel negative energy.
Wizard/Sorc? Animate dead tree of spells is a given. (is capapble of creating banshees and vampires and liches....)
Is capable of fantastic magical effects so probably 9th level spell effects easy (APOCALYPSE!!!!!!).

To do him justice, he'd have to be epic.
His weapon and armor are nothing to sniff at either.

My vote is 10 Anti-paladin (replace his feindish boon with a powerful undead)/10 Cleric/20 Sorcerer. He'd have the Lich and half fiend Templates (part of him was the original lich king, a powerful fiendish orc warlock), his armor (just the helmet?) being the phylactery.

Nothing to sniff at.

I'm working on a DK class (trying to do the WoW hero class jsutice, but not OP for PFRPG...) that i'd use in place of Anti-paladin...

AS far as DV...
In my world there is a person who is a 20 Psion (TK)/20 Soulknife/ 20 Mindknight (homebrew class). His story is not unlike Anakin's, but he was twisted by the god of evil into a kind of avatar. His body has been replaced with demonic grafts and such. He is currently bound and awaiting a particularly naive band of adventurers to free him...

Actually Psionics is now Pathfinderized in Betatest at Dreamscarred Press if you want a free copy pdf :)

And Han Solo could be a Smuggler Sailor (Fighter 2 Rogue 8 or so...)
and his Wookie pall could be a Yetti, perhaps one that has been awakened by a Druid :)
