So I was wondering if Pazio would have a problem with a Fan made Wiki designed and aimed to provide story content for a Post-Apoc Golarion? Would that violate the license since it would be altering the setting or would it be acceptable since it would be a fan site with a theme? Inquiring minds would like to know?

I'm pretty sure this would be allowed under the Community Use Policy. You might want to email Vic Wertz to be sure. :)

I thought Golarion was post-apocalyptic already.
Not post-apoc as much as post-cataclysmic. If it was set right after the world wound it might seem post-apoc in certain places and from the fiction the world wound definitely feels that way, but the rest of the world is pretty much the same as it was before. While cataclysmic events might lead to post-apoc, they tend to just readjust the world to some degree allowing the strong to survive and etc, but if civilization exists it tends to resume as usual after a minor hiccup. Post-apoc on the other hand pretty much tends to give the feeling that things may not end well for civilization or at least civilization as it was when the event took place, meaning intelligent life tends to revert to pre-civilization standards such as the stone age or dark ages. Cataclysmic events also tend to only affect a given region while post-apoc effects the whole world.
None specific...but I like P-A, even in Fantasy. What kind of apocalypse are you thinking about? Mhar (or whatever that dude in the mountain in RotRL was named) or something else?
You never know, my players might fail to stop Karzoug (or, worse, wake up that cat)...then the real fun can start.
M
I was thinking the Wiki could provide several possible scenarios that did or may have occurred.

That would fall under the CUP, yes...

So what Taldor Cheliax and Andoran go at it one more time bringing in Qadira to fight Taldor and Nex and Geb to fight each other again, and Taldor and Cheliax to fight each other and Andoran and everybody to go after Absalom. Thuvia and Rahadum start going at it... Lastwall and Ustalav start up because the Wispering tyrant wakes up... the River kingdomes start fighting each other... the world wound starts really acting up so Sarkoris is marching... Baba Yaga returns and The Linnorm kings enmass and make war on Irrisen... The Runelords awake and Varisia crumbles, and the Orcs of Belkzen march... Galt keeps fighting itself...
and after this stableizes and is put back in the bottle the world is post apocalyptic :) with Barbarian Kings, Pirate Kings and Sorceror Kings :)

I'm pretty sure the Age of Darkness and Age of Anguish that kick off the Golarion timeline count as full-on post-apocalyptic.
The veil of dust and darkness lifts from Golarion. Primitive peoples grasp and claw for power in a broken world.

You don't intend to kill off something like half the gods in some tangled plot that even soap opera writers would deride as ludicrous, arbitrarily introduce dumb races and have another planet that never was a planet before crash into the world, do you?
I swear, if you want to Forgotten the setting I'll hunt you down personally!
(Yes, I'm joking. But not 100%. Might not be wise to find out how much.... <_<)

KaeYoss |

There's so many possible doomsday scenarios already in the setting:
And then, many of the Adventure Paths offer nice incentives in the form of things that will happen if the heroes fail:
Just suppose for a moment that he then brings friends. Or rivals. Or both. They might kill each other, but such a struggle will leave its marks...
Descent Into Midnight might state that the devastation isn't even close to what happened during Earthfall, but just suppose that isn't wrong. Maybe it's the other way around...

All the nations going to war wouldn't really bring on a Post-apoc event. Something related to the world wound or the whispering tyrant could. I have a few ideas cooking that once I have time to write them all out will share and no I'm not FRing the setting. And Meepo I still think cataclysm since several Azlanti survived and rebuilt their culture to some extent.

I'm not FRing the setting.
Great. Good of you to say that this quickly, too: The chances of me stopping the large bulk order of torture implements before they start shipping is so much higher for that - you know how amazon is about that.
(I already have lots of this torture stuff, but special occasions do call for special treats!)
;-P
You're right, the ole low-talker could probably cook something up, too.

hmmmm....
post-magical-holocaust, where almost all life is wiped out in a whirlwind of random magical / elemental energies?
the survivors were either very very far away from civilization (dwarves, orcs, shoanti, etc) or locked away for long times (runelords, people living in alkenstar or mana wastes, etc).
they emerge to find the landscape tortured, entirely new land masses and bodies of water, the food and water is poisoned, and arable land is super-scarce.
all we need are lots of firearms, aliens, robots, and blue & yellow numbered leather jumpsuits.
where do i sign up?

Meepo, I realize I made a mistake in that my distinction is that Golarion at present is way past the event, and thus it was more a cataclysm in that a social society has continued. Post-apoc setings leave that aspect in question since everything is recent. The PCs have no idea if anything they remember will be around in say five or ten years, or themselves for that matter. PCs in Golarion know there are societies which exist and have no reason to doubt they won't any time soon.

Actually I didnt mean just the countries go to way, if you look at it...
Geb and Nex Litches, Vampire Wizards, and Goul Necromancer Wizards and their Undead armies :) Osireon and their Mummy Wizards, Aadira and their Genies, The World Wound opens up, Cheliax has its Devils, Ustalav has the Wispering Tyrant the Lich King, there is the World Wound full of Demons, and then I said Baba Yaga comes back to Irissen. The Runelords, Aboleths, Derro, Drow, the Serpent Folk, So that leaves everyone els to fight them... Paladins, Clerics, Druids and Wizards etc... thats a lot of powerful magick being tossed around... that could seriously alter the landscape, change the environment, kill thousands if not millions...

The Whispering Tyrant breaks free and in an attempt to defeat several gods at once destroys the Starstone, causing a magical backlash which devestates life all over Golarion. The destruction also rips the World Wound open further as well as freeing the Tarrasque, who unhindered by the absence of heroes devestates many of the remaining cities untouched by the Whispering Tyrants destruction.

Sounds suspiciously like something best left Forgotten....
How did the Tyrant get past Achaekek? Taking care of people who try to do things like destroy the starstone sounds like its kind of gig.

This might sound like a copout, but I think it would be best to leave that as part of the mystery. We still don't know what happened with Aroden so knowing everything about how the "end" came about seems like something that should have a few holes in it. Plus the Tyrant has a lot of time to think things over and come up with a really good plan.

1. The Mana Wastes begin to spread, but more randomly, leaving magic dead and wild magic areas, firearms become slightly more prevalent as a back-up when in magic weird areas.
2. The meteor hits from Darkness...ba..da..boom, beeg beeg bada boom...
3. Zombie 'Pocalypse: Urgathoa kills Pharasma. Zombies run many towns are destroyed. Pockets of civilization exist, divine magic is highly sought after. Trade is stunted due to the danger in traveling.
4. Magic Death: The natural magic ley lines of Golarion fail, access to spells is much more difficult, 6-9th level spells are gone, spell magic is wild, controlling the forces of magic requires a Spellcraft roll, failure can cause damage to self, random effects, or instantaneous death. Spell advancement is every other level, so a 20th level wizard would have the spells of a 10th level wizard in a normal campaign. This makes a lower magic campaign, again, guns become more prevalent.

It seemed Eberron had a lot more ways to go to pieces than Golarion does. Perhaps it would be better to use the term alternate realities of Golarion. In this way you can create a group that could "come up" with a virtual pleothra of scenarios.
Well the point of the wiki would be to give ideas on how it came about and perhaps there will be some new ideas not tied to current cannon. I see current story elements as nothing more than starting points that are already worked in to the history that could be used, but there's nothing written in stone that says we have to use that material.
While I'm at it I've been wondering if a wiki is the right thing to do? Would it be better to do a wiki or perhaps start a group, perhaps on Yahoo or Google? My thoughts being that a group could offer more opportunity for input and provide a way for players to find each other interested in the genre of Post Apoc. Thoughts?

Perhaps doing both. I have a general interest in this topic given I like to write fiction.
