Help me build a new Oracle Mystery

Homebrew and House Rules

For an upcoming Curse of the Crimson Throne campaign I have an oracle character (love the flavor of this class). Main problem---none of the mysteries fit him and I'm really too impatient to wait for Ultimate Magic to see what they've come up with.

So, to fit in with his wonderful personality, I've just started the "Domination" Mystery (name to be changed perhaps). Flavor of the mystery combines Asmodeus (the tyrant), Calistria (control through pleasure) and Zon-Kuthon (control through pain) to draw upon three different "flavors" of this theme.

Right now, I'm at a complete loss at what to throw together especially since my hectic work schedule and life outside of gaming (gasp!) get in the way of being able to sit down for a good amount of time and pound something out.

So, I turn to the creative minds on these boards to give me a hand!

Main thing is with this, I'm trying to shy away from it just being some kind of mind control master and broaden the concept of domination through the flavor of the three gods mentioned beyond the basics of a "command/charm/dominate person" spell-list/revelation tree.

Skill added right now is the obvious: Intimidate.

Command (2nd) and Dominate Monster (18th) are currently on the spell list (yeah, yeah-I know what I said before) and the only revelation is based on the battlefield clarity ability of the oracle of battle. Rough draft is as follows though I don't like how it's so similar:

Bows Before None (Gotta find a better name) (Ex): Once per day, as an immediate action, whenever you fail a saving throw against a charm or compulsion spell, spell-like or supernatural ability you may attempt that saving throw again, with a +4 insight bonus on the roll. You must take the second result, even if it is worse. At 7th and 15th level, you can use this ability one additional time per day.

Suggestions would be really appreciated!

First off, it's great to see someone else creating mysteries for Calistria. You should check out my Passion Mystery Thread, even though the name of the mystery is probably going to be slightly changed. That's more for Calistria, Shelyn, and Cayden Cailean, though, and somewhat fluffier than what you're looking for.

Still, some of the techniques I used you could probably apply to this. I started out trying to base all my revelations on those currently avaliable in other classes. I took a lot from Heavens, Lore, and Nature, refluffing and renaming them to fit the idea of love and lust. You could do something similar, like so:

Mantle of Fear (Su): You can conjure mantle of terror that solidifies around you, granting you a +4 armor bonus. At 7th level, and every four levels thereafter, this bonus increases by +2. At thirteenth level, this armor causes any target who hits you with a natural, unarmed, or melee weapon to be Shaken for 1d4 rounds unless the pass a Will save 10 +1/2 oracle level + Cha mod. You can use this armor for 1 hour per day per oracle level. This duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be spent in 1 hour increments.

Brain Drain (Su): as the Lore mystery revelation (or maybe alter is to result in a Suggestion spell rather than a Detect Thoughts? If so, it would need a new name and new fuff.)

Momentary Domination (Su): You can briefly dominate an opponent as if using Dominate Person (Will 10+1/2 oracle level +cha mod negates). This domination lasts for 1 round per oracle level, and does not allow you to see through the dominated humanoid or control it directly, only issue it commands. Dominating another creature causes the first to immediately be released from your control. You may use this ability a number of times per day equal to your Cha mod. You must be at least 7th level before selecting this relevation. (based on Punitive Transformation in the Waves mystery).

There you go, three from just glancing through the current oracle mysteries. There were others that looked good too, but I wasn't sure if you wanted the flavor turning too much towards fear effects.

Hmmm, good suggestions! Yeah, I saw your mystery and thought about it but my character leans a little too much to the big "E" on the alignment chart for only Calistria to have her eyes on him.

I'm trying to stay away from too many mind-affects (since that would give the mystery a HUGE disadvantage) but I do like the flavor of Momentary Domination and am currently trying to twist together a different version of Brain Drain without it being unbalanced and fitting the fluff. I'm thinking of creating something akin to your Mantle of Fear idea but nix the armor bonus and throw on status effects slapped on the attacker instead dependent on oracle level.

Here's one I'm thinking about though I'm wondering if I should make it X/per day or X/rounds per day.

Share Pain (Su): As a standard action, you may create a bond between yourself and another creature. Each round at the start of your turn, if you are wounded for 5 or more hit points below your maximum hit points, it takes 5 hit points of damage and you heal 5 hit points. Unwilling creatures may attempt a Will save (DC 10 +1/2 oracle level +Cha mod) to negate this effect and may not be targetted again for 24 hours. You may have a number of bonds equal to your Charisma modifier or oracle level (whichever is lower) at any one time. This bond continues until the bonded creature dies, you die, the distance between you and the other creature exceeds medium range, or you end it as an immediate action (if you have multiple bonds active, you may end as many as you want as part of the same immediate action). You must be at least 7th level to choose this mystery. (Based of the Life Link revelation of the Oracle of Life)

The capstone ability is also my biggest block right now.

Here is the Mystery as it stands:

Domination Mystery

Deities: Asmodeus, Calistria, Zon-Kuthon

Class Skills: An oracle with the domination mystery adds Bluff, Intimidate, and Knowledge (nobility) to her list of class skills.

Bonus Spells: command (2nd), (4th), (6th), (8th), (10th), (12th), (14th), (16th), dominate monster (18th)

Revelations
An oracle with the domination mystery can choose from any of the following revelations.

Bows Before None (Ex): Once per day, as an immediate action, whenever you fail a saving throw against a charm or compulsion spell, spell-like or supernatural ability you may attempt that saving throw again, with a +4 insight bonus on the roll. You must take the second result, even if it is worse. At 7th and 15th level, you can use this ability one additional time per day.

Daunting Presence (Ex): Your force of personality has become so overwhelming that your foes subconsciously hold back from attacking you. You may add your Charisma modifier, instead of your Dexterity modifier, to your Armor Class. Any condition that would cause you to lose your Dexterity modifier to your Armor Class instead causes you to lose your Charisma modifier to your armor class.

Mantle of the Tyrant (Su): As an immediate action you can surround yourself with an aura of overwhelming authority that discourages, and even punishes, your foes for daring to attack you. Treat this as the sanctuary spell except the DC is equal to (10 +1/2 oracle level + Cha mod) and if they manage to attack you they become shaken for 1 round. You can use this ability for 1 round per day per oracle level. The duration need not be consecutive, but it must be spent in 1 round increments.

Enslave the Weak (Su): You can briefly dominate an opponent as if using dominate person (Will DC 10 +1/2 Oracle level +Cha mod negates). This domination lasts for 1 round per oracle level, and does not allow you to see through the dominated humanoid or control it directly, only issue it commands. Dominating another creature causes the first to immediately be released from your control. You may use this ability a number of times per day equal to your Cha mod. You must be at least 7th level before selecting this revelation.

Final Revelation
Upon reaching 20th level, something cool happens. Don't know what yet!
