Shadow Lodge

Alrighty! It's with great pleasure that I announce my first big setup as the Venture Captain for the Seattle area. The folks at the Dragon's Liar in Bellevue have been kind enough to agree to host a Pathfinder Society events on alternating Fridays (so the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month) starting next Friday, the 22nd, from 6:30 to 11. It's only enough time for one slot, and I encourage people to show up a bit early so we can make sure everyone's ready to roll.

Also, if there's anyone willing to GM, let me know here, or drop me a line at SeattlePFS@gmail.com

I'd like to get things planned out, as in number of GMs, tables, scenarios, etc. Let's make this rock, guys.

Keep Playing,
Dane Pitchford, Seattle Venture-Captain

Shadow Lodge

The module I'll be running is 2-02 Before the Dawn Part 2: Rescue at Azlant Ridge, since the previous gameday there (last thursday so I've been told) ran 2-01. A nice bit of continuity. If we've got any other GMs coming, get in touch with me at SeattlePFS@gmail.com

Hey those of us who organize PFS at Dragons's Lairs should set up a event sometime in the Future!

Awesome, I would love to play.

This brings me to the next question. How are you organizing this? Whomever shows? Direct e-mailing? Warhorn? Online Spreadsheet? Online group? Here?

And for those who have never been to the venue (like me) the website for Dragon's Lair appears to be: Dragons Lair

For this particular mod, I believe it greatly enhances play if you do it back to back with 2-1, is that correct?

I have a 6th level monk, if you are organizing the game in this thread.

Shadow Lodge

The game isn't until next week, and right now I'm actually hoping to get at least one or two potential GMs, as I want to keep things open for those that just feel like showing up. That said, I'm not adverse to making a listing on someplace like Warhorn, or wherever would facilitate sign-ups better.

And this event is also listed in the Events section of the site, with the address for those who need help finding it. The event is also listed on the Dragon's Lair website calendar, so we have quite a few places where this is being advertised.
----

also, a note: I would love to play both of these scenarios back to back, but as we only have enough time for one slot. The previous adventure, 2-01, was played at the venue last week, so if we have any repeat players they'll at least have the benefit of knowing where things left off the last time. Even if we had the time, I have classes until 4:30 anyway, so finding someplace for an earlier slot on Fridays is a no-go

I have played 2-1 myself.

My question was more for the benefit of the "general audience". There is a mechanism for accruing certain "points" on 2-1 which, I am given to understand, comes into play for 2-2. I do not know this with 100% certainty, but for best effect it would appear that one should have a character that has already played 2-1.

Could you post the link to the event listing for the game? When I use the event calendar, I cannot find anything. When I use the localization search, it spits out the event in Olympia (and it does not have an option to specify date). Nor can I find it listed on the general calendar. Perhaps the event was not listed as public?

(I did see it on the Dragon Lair website, but today was the first time I have visited that :) And the details were rather sparse... )

Shadow Lodge

Hmm, odd. It had been posted as public, originally. Not sure how exactly that got unchecked.

As for the points accrued from 2-01, don't worry, as there's a method for determining Awareness Points for those that are starting with 2-02 without playing the one before. And, on that note, <Link>

Shadow Lodge

Oh! And for anyone that uses Facebook, I've even made an event page here

Dane I am serious! We should work on some kind of event that spans all three Dragon's Lair, San Antonio, Austin and Bellevue. I am in contact with the Austin crew and planing on playing with them, And I coordinate the PFS at the San Antonio store, so I am sure we could work together with Dragon's Lair to run some kind of spanning event.

I have no details right now, but some ideas are starting to bud.

If you don't mind a communal virtual table top/lan party type thing, there are plenty of options.

You should check out:

Sounds interesting, lol. Could be rather fun :)

So would there happen to be room at this event for a player new to Pathfinder? Tons of D&D experience, but haven't yet tried my hand at this one...

Shadow Lodge

There always is. If you want to show up a bit early (6, instead of 6:30), I can help you roll up a character for the game. :)

Shadow Lodge

Bumpity. Looking forward to this. Already have a second GM lined up if need be. :)

Eeeexellent!

For a second table, I have #12 Stay of Execution prepped for this Friday's game. This scenario is retiring from play on November 15, 2010.

Dane, you might want to update details on the Find Events page.

Shadow Lodge

Not a problem. And, I'd also like to ask those of you attending to get in touch with me at SeattlePFS@gmail.com with the character you plan to play and their level so I can get a better idea of the level breakdown and where to place people. Thanks!

Shadow Lodge

Thanks to everyone who was able to make it! We had a blast playing #12, Stay of Execution. I'm pretty sure the next session is on the 12th, but I'll make sure of it and get back to you guys.

That was a fun game. Great meeting everyone. It was a really good party, with everyone's help it all worked.

Kinda like the old Let's Make a Deal ... "Monty, I'll take what's behind door number one, and door number two, and curtain number three." :-0

(My first game with a Venture-Captain! All is coolness!)

Had fun too. Hope its a start of a more consistent experience.

Shadow Lodge

Alrighty, to those folks who were able to make it to the last session, the next session is actually on the 5th, not the 12th.

Also, and this will be put in a separate post as well, I created a google group for the Seattle area, to send out announcements for games and to help plan future events.

The group can be found here

Tonight - 6:30pm!

In the cliffside city of Kaer Maga, the well-respected Venture Captain Dreng awaits your arrival. What a man with his reputation wants from some of the greener members of the Pathfinder Society you don't quite know yet. Travel to the City of Strangers, though - that's enough to pique anybody's curiosity.

Scenario: The City of Strangers, Part 1: The Shadow Gambit
Tiers: 1-2, 3-4, 6-7

Thanks for stepping up to run this, Liz! I hope there's a solid turnout and that everyone has a good time.

Shadow Lodge

Let me definitely echo Mark's thanks, Liz. Sadly, the only other person that seemed interested in GMing wasn't able to make it (and hasn't GM'd for PFS before, either). I hope you guys had a blast, and there's still a game later today at Games & Gizmos for folks that are interested.

Dane has stepped up to run #52 City of Strangers part II: The Twofold Demise, this Friday Dec 3rd at Dragon's Lair in Bellevue.

Three of us have said we'ld make it, so there are 4 more seats available.

Grand Lodge 4/5 5/5

OK, this is kind of weird.

The Omaha group technically playes out of Bellevue NE

Omaha has a gamestore called Dragon's Lair

kinda a quirky coincidence

That is just too funny, both of us having PFS playing at Dragon's Lair out of Bellevue! The only difference is WA vs. NE, that's a small difference except for the miles :-)

Hope things are well for you at yours, maybe someday I'll sit in on a couple of your games!

Got the event added (event code 4234) and reported for us. Thanks guys for all the help. I had a lot of fun, but sorry for the delays as I read the stuff we needed.

Paizo Employee Director of Brand Strategy

Thanks for filling in to GM on such short notice, Thom. As I said last night, I've played at tables with GMs who'd prepped and even run scenarios previously that weren't as smooth and enjoyable as last night's game.
