I was watching the Avengers minisodes leading up to the new cartoon and I spotted a nice little easter egg. Flying one of the helicopters for the Hulkbusters was G.I. Joe's own Wild Bill. They even gave him a single line, spoken with a Texas twang. I don't expect to many more bits like this, but I thought it was a nice nod to the days when Marvel published the G.I. Joe comics.

Ok, saw the premier episodes.
This does appear to be a DCAU-like universe so far. We have the familar cast, but with some changes. Nick's black, with 616 style hair, for example.

More continuity porn...
In the Masters of Evil episode, there's a guy reading a newspaper while stuck in traffic. The headline is "Secret school for mutants in upstate New York?" With the X-mansion in the panel. Another headline on the paper is "Superheroes replaced by shape shifting aliens!"
I get the feeling I'm going to need to get the series on DVD just to catch all the in jokes.
Also there's a conversation between Tony and Jarvis where Tony's basically designing the hall of armor and Jarvis points out "You only have three suits, sir." Made me chuckle.
Best line so far... "I cannot. I'm concentrating."

Best line so far... "I cannot. I'm concentrating."
Thor has had several awesome lines.
"I tire of these geeks!"
"Its like a frost giant's head with the body of a baby."
"Iron Man's technology keeps making noises at me."
Plus I love the fact that he called Jarvis "Disembodied Voice" when Jarvis was talking too him just after he moved into the mansion.
However, Jan does get an honorable mention with, "Firemen live in the firehouse!"

I have to agree about the Hulk. Just please please please keep the Rulk out of my cartoon.
I also don't want to see yet another Hank Pym derailed by his breakdown. One thing that I like about Hank in the comics (when they allow him) is he frakked up and got better.
And yes, I chuckled at 'Gamma World' even if it wasn't intentional. I'd have been amused if the Hulk had put one of the little 'gamma enhancers' on and become the Maestro though.
I also like how the assembly at the end of the credits changes to reflect the membership.

I'm biased, but I think Cap has a lot of potential. I do like how they've touched on him being out of time, subtly w/o making him an idiot.
I have said this before on some other forums, but yeah, I think Hank in this show reminds me of Hank when he was the science advisor to the West Coast team, not really that interested in being a super hero, but wanting to make a difference with his talents. I think as he is now he makes a nice counterpoint to Tony.
I think, and I could be wrong, that they are playing up that Cap is out of time, so he's letting others take point and helping out where he can. Its nice that they can subtly show him a bit lost without going great guns on the "gee willikers, its not the fourties anymore!"
I am hoping, however, once he gets his bearings, he starts becoming a bit more assertive. I'll be interested to see if we start seeing some chairman changes down the road and how it affects the team.
And I really liked the quote from Gamma World, as well:

I don't think this is biased at all. Cap has great potential. I think Pym has shown more depth so far, but a large part of that is he has been in several more episodes. I can easily see Cap overtaking him quite soon.

more fun
Looks like Nick is going underground, ala Secret Invasion. I'll be interested to see if this Bobbie is a skrull then.
Also, as much as I initially disliked Bucky 'getting better', I have been impressed with him in the 616 universe, so I'm glad that we'll see the character introduced (with an arm missing, I noticed).
Next week... Ultron!

"Ultron... We would have words with thee."
My inner fanboy just fainted.
