This 15 years old girl disappeared 42 days ago from Avetrana ( Italy ) while going to her cousin's house on foot. Carabinieri (a police corp ) today arrested her uncle ( am not going to write his name ): few days ago he pretended to accidentally find the girl's cellular phone out in the camps , this brought suspects on him and he finally confessed; he kidnapped the nephew, strangled her to death, raped the corpse ( sorry for the cruelty of this sentence ) and threw the naked body into a deep, narrow well. Took about 2 days to recover it.
I didn't know her, but think it is fair to at least remember this tragedy.

I'm not completely sure I understand why you felt compelled to write this here, but a part of me is glad you did. After reading your post, I ran a brief web search on the girl's name, and was quickly bombarded by journal articles and YouTube videos concerning this tragic event. But all of it was in Italian, a language which I am not fluent in. It reminds me that we all live in our own protective bubbles, be they social or cultural, ignorant of many important matters going on in the wider world...
I know that the man responsible for this will likely be regarded henceforth as a psychopath and a vile deviant, and perhaps rightly so. But I wonder if there could have been a way for his family, friends, or his community to guide him clear of this event, and the psychology/mentality that drove him to it. Is it possible for us all, as individuals, to play a part in cultivating a psychologically healthy society?
I do not personally wish to start any form of debate over the answer to this question. It is merely a concept that I felt the need to express, to share, after stumbling onto this tread. I hope it is well-received.

Sometimes i forget how harsh the real world can be, as i'm used to read on these thread of wonderful fantasy thingies.
Can't either say i wouldn't expecting this,as usually when a young girl disappears so suddenly the cause is always the same ( at least here ).
Surely her uncle had many problems, but Sarah's mom often told the law enforcers to search better inside her very family, make you think she knew/suspected the truth. What i knew is her uncle already tried romance her,so maybe it could be avoided.
I just read other tragedies around the world posted in Off-topic, and as i said i though it was fair to remember Sarah.

I think that that is an important question, but one to which you will find multiple conflicting answers. Each group, whether it be religious, secular, anti-religous, etc. is going to have a different idea on how best to cultivate that psychological health.
As to whether the man could have been prevented from doing this...I highly doubt it. Given the rate of recidivism with pedophiles and (true) sex offenders, it is more likely that he held himself in check for as long as he could and finally just snapped. He might have been able to push this back a bit, but he would have needed to kill himself to prevent it entirely.
If there is one thing I am glad for in the whole situation described, it was that the SOB had the decency to wait until she was dead to have his way with her. Sounds cruel, I know, but if he was going to kill her regardless at least this way she didn't have to endure the horror of being raped by her Uncle.
