Use of Heroes Feast to Remove Disease

Rules Questions

Greetings,

In solo RP, my cleric is faced with the challenge of curing a large scale epidemic of bubonic plague in a neighboring country. I did some investigation this morning to find that Heroes Feast may be able to help me do this. I would like some clarification of the rule, however.

"Every creature partaking of the feast is cured of all sickness and nausea, and receives the benefits of both neutralize poison and remove disease [&ct...]"

Receives the benefits of... does this mean that this happens automatically (provided that the spell is not interrupted in its duration) or is this something that I will have to roll a check against the affliction's DC against?

Thanks for any input.

They're automatically affected by a Remove Disease spell. Which means you have to roll.

Yes, would agree with Quantum Steve, you have to roll.

I loved Heroes Feast in 3.5. Not that it isn’t good in PF, still, but they nerfed it a lot. In 3.5 it made your immune to Fear for 12 hours, which came into play with us more than once when we were higher level and fighting dragons, or other creatures that caused fear.

But in PF, now it only gives you a +4 on fear checks. Again, it’s still nice, but big difference in being immune than receiving a +4.

With help from the Wizard of the Coast Dice roller, my 12th level cleric managed to cure 674 patients of plague in three weeks. Her 10th level paladin cohort cured 102. The king came to fetch her away from the encampment personally, because she put his royal physician to shame.

Thanks, Heroes' Feast.
