Another Eidolon question

Rules Questions

My apologies, I looked through 3 pages of posts on Eidolons before I gave up. The APG says the act of summoning the Eidolon is a ritual that takes 1 minute.. so 10 rounds of combat.
Let's say the summoner knows something is coming and begins to summon his Eidolon. He gets part way through the ritual and combat breaks out.
What sort of DC would be required to continue the ritual when threatened?
I am assuming it would be a spellcraft based concentration check.
Something along the lines of a DC 15+ spell level. But what spell level would the ritual be considered? 1st? since the ability is gained at 1st level?
Also I assume if the summoner takes damage he would need to make a second check on top of the check to avoid provoking an AoO while casting?
Basically this is a retarded thing to do but one of my players did.

I have no idea how to answer the question :\

I would assume a concentration check each time they provoked. (each round, per person close enough, etc..)

Otherwise though. due to the current make-up of the class, he is probably better off just canceling the ritual and summoning up some critters to help. You are really talking about 5 rounds of doing nothing while your buddies need help. Buffing them or breaking out some summoning SLA is almost certainly a better idea for those 5 rounds than to finish the ritual.

Just my thoughts though.

Oh i agree completely. It's moronic really. Not sure what his intentions where. It's very strange and we've been trying to figure out what is going on. the player loves to tell other people what to do with their characters and is constantly second guessing and questioning other players combat actions. Then when it's his turn he sits there and casts acid splash.. The party is 4th level.. he's casting acid splash during the first combat of the day. It's like he is trying to be useless.

Well, the Summon Monster SLA says it "uses up the same power" as the eidolon. I'd just use the concentration DC for casting the SLA defensively. That'd be DC 19 for a 4th level summoner, as if he were casting Summon Monster II.
