Clairvoyance...familiar vs. obvious

Rules Questions

In the text of the Clairaudience/Clairvoyance spell the text states, "You don't need line of sight or line of effect, but the locale must be known—a place familiar to you, OR AN OBVIOUS ONE."

What does "or an obvious one" mean? Does that mean I can see on the other side of this door that I have never opened?

From the way the phrase is worded, the area you are monitoring must be known but you dont necessarily need to have been there.

So the question is, Can you see on the other side of a closed door (5 feet away) not knowing what is on the other side with the Clairaudience/Clairvoyace spell?

Seems pretty clear to me. As long as that point is within range, don't see why not.

The door is known right? You could try looking through a crack on the door or under it to glimpse inside the room maybe.

If there is any light coming through you could say you want to view the light source and from there see the room.

ok but if there isn't a hole in the door or light coming through?
