Liberty's Edge

Just like the title says...expose hypocrisy one hypocrite at a time. I'll start:

Anti-gay, Bentley-driving, personal jet-having, mega-church pastor coerced young men (above the age of consent, but below the age of majority) into having sex with him all the while condemning homosexuality as "spiritual abortion."

Me!

Most of us are hypocrites in regards to one issue or another, to a greater or lesser degree. The only question is: is it about something sufficiently significant and to a such a degree as to be entertaining for others to seek to mock us? =P

I'll freely admit that I'm a hypocrite in some regards...but I don't have a congregation of 26,000 being influenced by my word. People who are in positions like that have a higher obligation to act with integrity than others (yet they are the people who do so least often, it seems).

Or the media picks up on it, because sex sells.

Also he is denying the allegations, or maybe in denial it is hard to tell these days.

no rant, no politics. Just sad. Like the highschool teacher who has been relieved of his teaching credentials here, why? For having an online relationship with a 14 yr old in Portland and getting caught.

Damn. Someone's wanting to one-up Teddy Haggard? Speaking of ... looks like the insurance business isn't doing so hot for him with making money ... he wants to get back into pastoring. Apparently ... the pay's better.

o.O

What is sad, is he will most likely make money at it, even now.

Liz Cheney in so many ways.

Oh goodie. Another Christian/Conservative bashing thread. You can never have too many of those.

To be honest the boy, if he did this, is another hypocrite.

Of course they come in all walks of life.

The dems and liberals have just as much hypocrisy as the repubs and cons, if not more.

I never said otherwise, to do so would be...hypocritical...(sorry couldn't help it). But seriously, i get almost as outraged by the hypocritical antics of people with whom I generally agree.

The reason why there is so much backlash when a right-winger/social conservative does something like this is b/c they claim to be the party of morals. They try and legislate morality on the one hand while on the other they're out cheating on their wives or gayin it up (or both). This obviously is not the case with every right wing/christian/social conservative, but enough of them have done it for me to not believe anything that comes out of their mouths...ever.

I'd like to gay it up.

Ah, the same ones that want to bring back creationism or intelligent design or whatever it is they're calling it this week.

This thread will make my head esplode.

Sad really. It would be nice to see groups spending time helping one another out and bringing groups together rather than spending time and energy seperating ourselves. Small world and it gets smaller everyday. Wishing we could all just get along.
