I must confess to a bias for some articles ;>

Someone go vote for the Froghemoth for me! I voted before it was an option, and I can't change my vote. Even better, everyone go vote for the Froghemoth. Aberrant amphibians need love too!

Scarab Sages

Those who want to help Deinol need to vote in the issue 12 poll. No pressure though. :)

I voted for the cleric remix myself yesterday, though of course the froghemoths weren't in the running yesterday. :D

Liberty's Edge

Sheesh, I didn't know we were going to actively campaign for votes! ;)

But, when in Rome ...

The Spell-Less Ranger is in Issue #11 - all you Spell-less Ranger fans head over and VOTE !!!

RPG Superstar 2013 Top 16

Besides voting for the spell-less ranger and the froghemoth you can also vote fot KQ 8's Traps of the Mind and KQ 13's Scions of Shadow.

Ya know, even after all the time that Kobold Quarterly has been around, I always have to think for a few seconds when I see just the initials because KQ will always bring to mind for me the King's Quest series of computer games first.

And on topic, I can't vote yet because I have not had the chance to look through all the issues yet.

Each issue has a seperate poll so you can vote for only those issues you have already read.

You know you want some Dwarven Airships from issue #7.

Just sayin'.

These polls are super-hard because there's been so much good material in KQ. Personally, I could pick out three or four volumes of "best of" material.

Edit: ...and really, no one needs to pimp the inclusion of the Spell-less Ranger article any more....I'm sure that one already has a prime seat. ;)

Well..... after checking the latest results it would seem that torture-porn has overtaken the spell-less ranger.

And that is just not right! ;)

Come on Spell-less Ranger fans ... head over and vote! We can't let a cool Pathfinder base class be beaten by ... torture-porn! (love that term by the way, nicely done Darkjoy ;)

kicks down door to vote for spell-less ranger

Working on Paladins now, but I am very much looking forward to using your information and advice to put the ranger together.

I cannot really claim credit to the term 'torture-porn'. But torture in gaming is always popular....maiming without consequence.....that is so DnD ;> (and various other RPG's).

*blink* Wait. I've got an article that's in the lead for its issue. *confused head tilt*

I'm seriously flattered. Confused, but flattered. Small number of votes, but damn that's really cool! :)

It's a good article! Hard to get enough about proteans. It's between that and the care and keeping of gelatinous cubes, both are excellent articles.

I'm actually hoping we end up with the space for the top 2 from each issue, but I really don't know what size Wolfgang is going for.

Right there with you. I'm pretty damn flattered by the votes all of my articles are getting. It's so hard choosing a single article because there's so much good stuff in every issue of KQ.

There are a -lot- of good pieces in each issue. And don't be so surprised at how your stuff is faring, you've had some kick-ass pieces. :)

Thanks for the kind words and the vote! :)

The Exchange Kobold Press

The votes are taking some interesting turns, and I do appreciate everyone who is providing feedback on their favorites to date. After 3 years+ of publication, it's nice to look back and see that most of the things I consider highlights are also fan favorites.

And hey, it makes me feel good about the next 3 years, because I've got some ass-kicking material coming in the Fall issue as well.

Quick update:

The spell-less ranger is still being tortured.

Luckily, the scions of shadow are tied with the destined weapons at issue's #13 poll.

Traps of the Mind needs some help.

Sadly, since my last announcement, two Woon loyalists have made things worse for the ranger and the scions.....

I actually enjoyed both the spell-less ranger and the Scions of shadow articles.... but do we really need to attempt a smear campaign to help foster votes? stick to writing not politicking.

Well, I think we were all mostly just having some fun, but ... point taken! I'm working on a few things right now in fact - guess I'll get back to them! ;)

Glad to hear you enjoyed the Spell-less Ranger though!

I agree. While I am tempted to mention that proteans are rumored to eat little puppies and to have accepted money from shady special interest groups (unlike the gelatinous cubes who, while they may eat the occassional puppy have at least promised to run a transparent campaign), I shall refrain from doing so and rise above the mudslinging others might engage in.

Spoiler:
Anyone who wants to advance the cause of Cubism over the chaotic, meanderings of the proteans can vote in the issue 10 poll. Protean fans can vote there too, I suppose, if they must. ;)

** spoiler omitted **

*soft chorus of hissing in an oddly soothing if meanering tune*

Lies! It's not a rumor. We do eat puppies from time to time when the Maelstrom births them from naught but its own whimsy. As for puppies from the material plane? Don't send them all adrift and lost in the Cerulean Void and we won't be tempted. Of course there was another time that I baked an icecream cake from such rich chocolate that it literally made a fiend cry tears of joy. And why do I mention a fiend in such non-sequiter sequence of meandering prose? Becuase Gelatenous Cubes accept campaign money from DEVILS.

I'm a protean. I'd sooner turn a devil's insides to pudding and spackle it on your house like mashed potatoes on a highschool cafeteria ceiling for reasons only the Speakers of the Depths know than I would take their misbegotten money. *hiss*

Cubies are literally funded by Hell. Which is to say, the James Joyce appreciation society and that was one soul that even Pharasma just wanted to get rid of as quickly as possible I think she let the daemons have it I would have been less benevolent and spun it into diamonds or taffy and set it adrift for another to find and feed to a cube there to get indigestion of one sort of another.

[at this point the keketar's language shifted into a mixture of telepathically streamed concepts and emotions and its words to a frequency not heard by human ears. They probably spoke ill of the Devil Cubes. And Joyce.]

It's not a smear campaign just because it is dark and sticky, it is just the shadows leaking out, but I kind of get your point.

I am glad to see that you enjoyed the scions of shadow article.

Spoiler:

Vote for shadow, we are already part of you!

Spoiler:

Is it obvious that competition brings out the worst in me?

Slightly off topic

Spoiler:

It would seem that campaigning is counter-productive in a way, atleast the latest polling numbers seem to indicate that.

Thus it would seem that the public judges not on content, but on form. Just like real life!

Spoiler:

explosive runes

Immensely actually. I am playing a Shadow Bloodline sorcerer in my current campaign. and I have never been a big fan of spells with rangers, I thought that class was awesome, didn't fit with my character, but we had a gunslinger I tried to talk into taking the class vs. being a fighter. Thought it would work better with the spell-less ranger rather than a fighter. but the guy has always played fighters. always.

Sovereign Court

I'm surprised that Haffuns aren't getting much love. They're one of my favourite KQ creations.

I liked Todd Stewart's "Chaos Magic of the Proteans" better, Haffuns was good, but we are looking for the best and with only one vote the choices become harder.
