Sizes

on page 195 of the core rule book, there is a table (8-4) that labels different size categories as long or tall. such as large(long) and large(tall). however, it does not say what these different categories do.
is this like 3.5 where large(long) was 5ft by 10ft and large(tall) was 10ft by 10ft. is this still the rule, or are these different size categories just for flavor?

That same table details the differences between the two: long creatures have only a 5' reach.

i saw that reach was the determining factor for long or tall, the bestiary has nothing labeled as long or tall, so i was wondering why the table is there. does it actually modify the squares the creature takes up, or is it just flavor?

All it does is determine if a Large creature has 5 feet of reach (long) or 10 feet (tall).
