"As we await the last of us to get here, I will begin with much patience. Our journey has taken us from our initial landing point, here, and with our new experiences, has taken us, here."
With each 'here,' he points on the map the general vicinity that he had marked on the navigation maps.
"Now, as we continue to search for what may or may not be land in this wretched world, I want to further assure you - we will save what we can, and ration our food and water wisely.
"I need you all to keep our morale high, and use less of the rum - a consistently drunk crew might think less of misery, but will do less on their duties.
"The next point I must bring up, is that of our current heading. Do any of you believe our heading should be revised?"
"Quartermaster" Kai'itza
Kai makes mental notes of what the captain says, he watches intensely at where the Captain indicates on the map and tries to commit it to memory.
In a serious tone with his eyes slowly becoming slits, he stands as much as the roof allows him, as he speaks his thoughts. "I sssee no gain in changing the heading Captain, we have no trail or markerss to guide uss..." he shakes his head regretfully at the thought of being aimless and lost"I will not vote on thisss, Perhapss the sstrange sscaled one in the Nesst would be able to tell uss what it hass sseen?"
While everyone considers the thought Kai continues "But resst eassy in the thought that I will do whatever can be done to keep the crew going. Sso far our ssuppliess remain sstrong but in a few more passes of luna or more of thiss... crowding, there may be more ssuffering, this 'rationing' will be easy to take ssince thiss worldss fish iss sso plentiful." He smiles his usual toothy grin, as he talks of plentiful amounts of meat.
With an effort he refocuses. "We musst alsso ssee into assking thosse who sskills are more... unique, to usse them for the tribess ssurvival. The winged sscaled Garth and our waterborne are able to do much that mosst cannot. To be able to fly above and sswim below iss of great sstrength for uss. But Garth can ssee farther then even the sscaled one in the nesst. If he iss willing and sstrong enough perhapss he can fly high eneough to find what we sseek."
Pausing again to collect his thoughts, Kai opens his eyes and looks at everyone "If you wissh me to assk him then I sshall as ssoon ass I can, perhapss he can sshow us the way to our... new home" With that he sits back down on his haunches and sways with the movement of the ship.

If this is possible, I would issue a command for the undeads to move next to ship and grab to ropes, glue themselves somehow to ship. Time has passed since I last time wrote here- if not possible anymore, just leave them behind and they will get out of my control
Avion was sitting most of the time in his cabin, researching new ways of improving healing... and making it worse. A sample he had took from one of the undead, he examined it hours, to find what was so different in these ones.
Avion would then later seek out Gunny and begin to speak with him of issues and teaching about the way of healing, while explaining from the point of view of Nerull.
Diplomacy [teaching for Gunny and other NCP´s who are interested]1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Sitting and watching people talking, Avion will slowly then move towards the meeting of Captains and on one of the free chairs if any or otherwise stands next to door. Watching how Suny is covering in corner, most likely sleeping.
Thinking the words of changing course, Avion won´t say anything but listens for the news and deciding his plans after everything, if not approached with questions.
"Quartermaster" Kai'itza
Hee he! It still works! Suny like to party hard! (^_^)
Seeing Avion enter the room Kai acknowledges his entry with a respectful bow of his head. He continues to sit like a silent sentinel and watches everyone's features as the meeting progresses.
"Captain" Devannis Pantera
"Well, then, does anyone have any issues they would like to bring up? Since we're not so keen to speak of our 'intended destination', I will open the table for others to speak."
With his part of the meeting closed, since there was a lack of answers, Devannis seated himself at the head of the table. He sighed, and rubbed the back of his neck, a look of relaxation overcoming him as he awaited others to speak up.
"Surgeon" Avion Merdiota
I may suggest that for now we are not in trouble or have a hard time but later we must find land or at least some place to settle for a while. Avion speaks as he looks at other people.
What is conserning me at this moment is our supplies and amount of people. The sea is offering us plenty of meat and our "garden" is providing a sustainable amount of vegetables but that won´t last long enough as he begins to tap his chin.
I can´t say for sure, but staying on a ship for a long time, not so many people are used to living here and they are longing for land. Some of the people are also suffering some small minor sicknesses like scurvy and muscle pain. The lack of normal meat, pig/ox/chicken, is making some of the members nervous
Avion now looks at other people and in his own minds goes through possibilities Now it´s better to have them all trust me... necessarities are must. Smiling and then speaking, carefully picking them up Some people, mainly woman and children are having hard time and are bit sick. I have been tending and everything seems to be fine for now. I will try to preserve their well-being as long as possible, but other way, who knows
"Quartermaster" Kai'itza
Raising his head at the speaking of a 'sickness' of any sort, Kai looks at Avion with a blank look. "Thiss iss the firsst I have heard of thiss and I am among our tribe much, ssea ssick perhapss...? No matter... I will sspeak with Garth about having him fly and guide uss, ssince no one wantss to agree upon it I will carry the burden. Before we guessss at what the waterborne'ss garden can provide, I will let them sspeak for themsselves on it, ssince no one but they are allowed to dissturb that ssacred place... Or ssso I wass led to believe."
With that he rises and after making sure Suny is alright, he makes his way towards the entrance of the meeting room obviously intent on leaving. "If anyone needss me, I will be out doing my dutiess, I trusst you will make the right choice. But I ssee no point for me to be here..."
Unless stopped he leaves and hunts down Garth if possible and talks to him about performing some scouting for the betterment of the ship.

Kyre Sannah
I hope you will all excuse me, but I'm unclear as to what our choices are. We know that for as long as we are on these seas we are in danger of attack, and of running out of various supplies. At the moment, our morale is high for such circumstances. Is there a better heading than our present one? And unless we get a good report from our flying or swimming scouts, is there any way to be sure? Kyre seems honestly mystified, but not in any way belligerent. I believe that so far, what gods have an interest in our survival have set us on a path - let us continue to take it until we are given better signs.
"Surgeon" Avion Merdiota
Indeed... let the God/s decide what will happen. However, we are also in need to control our own fate and destiny. Gods can´t always do something for us... in this way they test are we worth as indivuals and having our own sense of justice & trust to our God in our own darkest path Avion compels
I see that we are not really having so much ideas as what to do as more like having an idea storm. I support the idea of asking Garth to scout. That said, I will take my leave back to my quarters. and bid his farewell with bow.
Walking under the deck, he will try to search for Gunny and some other people, bring them together and conversate them to unholy religion in a long term.
Who knows how long they would still sail, so he had time... lots of time to talk and talk with others. I am the harbringer of Nerull... and others will bow in front of Nerull´s might
1st day Diplomacy [Gunny and other NPCs]1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 &
2nd day Diplomacy 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 &
3nd day Diplomacy 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
The purpose for Diplomacy: I would like to take this dice result for whole duration of traveling or if not, then for 1 week and then roll a new dice for next week.
Avion will slowly turn and conversate Gunny and other handfull people to his unholy religion. Especially Gunny and Eithire are ... irresistible targets. Purpose for the turning can be discussed, but mainly to have "helpers" or other people under his grasp
As he walks forward, Avion remembers he had some potions in his room... maybe by illustrating and showing the them as well demonstrating some powers he had, could be more favorable in turning.
EDIT!: Actually, I think you are right. Would be too much plus with my rolling and plusses I would soon get them. Daily seems to be much better, so going with couple day rolls then
"Quartermaster" Kai'itza
I think rolling a diplomacy check for a week is a bit... over the top lol but Willpower will decide on that, I guess. But if it is allowed then I will be starting my own rolls to keep morale up and to root out possible dissent among the crew. BUt if anything I will keep up my daily rolling.
Before leaving Kai'itza will scoop up the sleeping Suny and take her below decks down to where the other lizardfolk of his tribe are denned up. For his size he is quite graceful when he needs to be, when he get's there he will wrap her up in his cloak of memory. With the knowledge that she is warm and safe, he moves back up to the main deck to talk with Garth and any other waterborne who will listen. After that he heads back down to the den and takes up his usual spot, guarding the doorway.
The cloak is explained in my characters profile under his gear, it doesn't do much else but keep someone comfortable and warm. But it will look very odd, covered in strange trinkets and other small items that hold significance to Kai.
Still using my previous diplomacy check that I rolled earlier for Garth, if allowed, thanks Will =).1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Diplomacy 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19 Day 1, Talking to the crew, trying to keep them in good spirits and to give them someone to confide in.

With a great sigh, he leaned back in his seat, looking over the map. He had listened firmly, and had waited to voice his opinion, but perhaps too long - for Kai and Avion had left the meeting already.
He'd hoped the other would have had something to say, but instead continued on, to close it up for the day.
"Alright then. I agree with Kai's idea, however, I do believe we have a growing problem. I want you to keep an eye on our dear surgeon - and remind your peers that you can always come to me if you have something you want to address. This also applies to you - I'm readily available if you want to talk. Now then, I believe we'll keep our heading 'til we arrive about... here," he points to a location that would take a few days to obtain, "and we'll turn to put us going... here." He uses the bits of string and so forth to arrange a predestined course.
"Now then, if we recieve any information from scouting attempts, that would obviously change our course. If you find anything important under the water, Nerine and Olek, let me know - your mantas are large enough to carry me, right? If so, I would like to either accompany you or be shown, before we move any further on them."
He'd wink, and reseat himself. "Does anyone have any questions regarding this?"

The undead cling to the ship then, no harm in saying as much. If you want them all to tag along it's easy enough to mentally order them to do so before being left behind.
Diplomacy check, albeit a 20, is unnecessary. That's not a skill used to "teach" people. But, I will use that diplomacy roll to "sway" someone who would otherwise say "no way" to consider necromancy a profession.
Anyone in particular you want to impress this upon? No one says "yes" to wanting to learn about necromancy, most are quite repulsed. So if you want to just hip me out to who you want to sway I will consider that part of the Diplomacy roll. (I assume Gunny?)
Note: I cannot allow a week long Diplomacy roll, also keep in mind Diplomacy has opposing rolls, so I'd need to work those out when needed.
If your feeling people out then generally the consensus consists of dirty looks, glares, and a few head shakes. Gunny does seem less repulsed than anyone else in your estimation, at least those that come to the deck side often.
This is mostly info you will get later, as technically until I catch up most of the crew is still below deck, but I didn't catch up so no harm in giving you this ahead of time to plan.
"Quartermaster" Kai'itza
I've just been going by 1 min - 1 hr depending on what is going on mainly or until Will says "The next day and This happens! *Que dastardly DM music*".
He will tilt his head in a quizzical fashion when he returns and see's the clock bundled up in a more nest like fashion, with a quiet rumble of laughter he will sit and guard the door while he waits for sleep to overtake him.
"Surgeon" Avion Merdiota
1) Mhm, I would say that all the undeads are clinging next to ship, keeping them along.
2) Diplomacy rolls are okey as you issued. I accept your judgement here :) and yes, you are right. Most of the checks are meant to sway the ideal and believe toward necromancy and making it look more helpful than harmful. Gunny, as you said, would be ideal target.
I would also like to consider Eithire, since she is (as I have understood and read the pbp & ooc) not mentally stable at this moment (or more like just confused about the loss of her magic). Getting him to try necromancy plus promising him the power (as a wizard she would long for the feeling of magic, or in this case "heck, even the divine will make me feel good") if he turns. This is just all assuming.
3)I understand this. I will be of course role-playing it later and accordingly, when Avion will see this, since all this will be happening after the revelation of being a servant of Nerull. Don´t want to ruin the fun from others, so also trying to keep my "overlord" guy in check.
4)Hm... for teaching, yes. Need to also think this. What would you believe to be most appropriate? Profession(teacher) also exists :P but thinking of if got anything appropriate or just going with Diplomacy(Sway the thinking)
PS: No hurry mate :) RL first, then the Game. We got time to wait. (Also apologizing for alot of questions and demanding your time to answer)

"Olek did mention that the fish told him about something shiny below us, but he can tell you more about it. We may find out out more later tonight after we take we handle a small infestation that's on the ship's hull."
"As for the Surgeon, Olek and I can heal people as well. I've already spoken to Gunny and told him as much."
"The course seems fine Captain, so I have only one question. If it came down to it, would you side with Avion?"
"Captain" Devannis Pantera
He looked at Nerine with a very serious face, as if he didn't believe people were talking of sides.
"If I had to choose? I would side with none - the problems you have with others are your problems, and you bear it with whoever you wish. But as it stands, the words he has spoken weigh heavy on my heart as we talk now. I say this much: I believe he is a threat, and that should be more than enough. But, do take care of his pets - I know not where they keep them, but I do not want them near our cargo."
He'd give another wink, and finish arranging the pieces. He stood and walked over to the door, and leaned to the wall.
"If you find proof that he has malicious intent, come to myself or Kai immediately. We'll then have another meeting to discuss that, when it happens."

Starting to be interesting. Druids vs Cleric plus people not taking part, just staying behind... but seems like our poor surgeon is soon left alone.
Hm.. hmm... Going back to scheme his evil plans Let´s see how will this develop. It´s getting quite interesting
I think the meeting of captains was in the day or evening? I guess doesn´t matter here hm..
Evening passes, as Avion talks with Gunny and others. Finishing, the surgeon heads to deck to catch a fresh air and walks to the rear, watching to the horizon and pondering on his own
Hm... too soon or not, now it´s too late. Oh Nerull, these heretics are... I can´t even think, planning and discussing, trying to root things to their way. Who are they to judge me or you!
Avion´s fingers begin to tap ship rail. Those druids and paladin... hm, they will be a problem. What to do, oh, what to do.
Standard Command:Undeads (2) Raise and come to me
Watching two of his minions appearing and jumping to the deck, Avion looks at their gesture and form. Ah... if I could make you stronger and faster... Hm.. going through his mind, he remembers the spell Desecrate Ah, yes...that one. However, God won´t answer to me and this ship... curse the people. I will get all of you and evil grin appears to Avion´s face.
Standard Command:Undeads (2) Clean the deck
Might as well use them for something... better to keep their untrustulness as down as possible.
Time passes as he just blankly look on the sea, bathing on the night.
Those druids just... ah, damn tree-huggers and fish-lovers. I should gut your stomach open as Avion´s grips get harder on the rail.
Turning and looking at the undeads cleaning,
Standard Command:Undeads (2) After me,
he decend back under the deck and head to his cabin. I need a plan. First Gunny, then that woman mage. Find a land and establish my grip over everyone. Avion steps inside, while the undeads follow him and as the door closes, the light disappears from the hallway

Plot Event: "Snake in the Grass."
As night grows closer the red sun sets leaving the world with it's new cracked moon glowing sickly in the night sky. Their is a rumbling throughout the ship at the presence of undead, it's easy to feel the tension in the air. The druids do get down to business during the night with the purging of the undead not under Avion's control onboard. Nine in all are no longer a problem. (no XP for this as they were no threat, and already defeated earlier.)
Night passes by (otherwise) uneventfully.
Morning comes in deep shades of crimsons and reds. Garth the Half-Dragon takes wing and starts scouting from up high for any sings of land, or something besides water.
Shortly after the morning sun climbs higher a noise is heard.
"EEEEAAAH!" A feminine scream pierces the lower cabins from one of the crew.
"Surgeon" Avion Merdiota
Avion rolls in his bed. Darkness is falling, light pierces through darknesss here and there. Mist appears and disappears, while the feeling of moist, sand, rust, mold disappears and everything is filled with green, sweetness... and he woke up, with a voice of screaming!
Heart beating, AVion looks around and soon he notices tree of his undead standing there and watching him... but the connection to last 9 had disappeared...Damn.. the power... I am still too weak. I need more of it
Realizing soon the screaming continuing, Ah, Thank you God it was not me, Avion sight in relieve, but soon shrugs and listen to his beautiful melody of screaming. Wondering who is it and what might cause this Ahah, the drow must have gone mad now he smirks and gets up as fast as possible.
Wearing his outfit, he soon departures from his cabin and heads to direction of the screaming
"Quartermaster" Kai'itza
The scream pierce's through Kai's nightmare, as he awakes with adrenaline coursing through him, he seizes up his shield as he stands and secures it to his forearm as he moves out of the 'Den' swiftly. He doesn't leave quietly though as battle warrants his hasty departure. He looks about the bilge deck, searching for anything amiss there, before quickly heading upto the next floor, along the way he will ask anyone he sees if they saw or heard anything. He is also looking and trying to find the source of the scream or some unknown danger lurking nearby.

DM willing, when Kai makes a Diplomacy check to help morale - or any other skill for that matter - Kyre will be assisting in whatever way she can. She already sees him as a natural ally. Per the rules on assistance, I'm looking for a 10 or higher on any such result to add 2 to Kai's rolls. Day one - 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Kyre was already awake - she had lost much of the need for sleep while keeping company with the Fey, and the disciplines of her order require a brief ritual of greeting to the dawn. Except when someone gets her attention, she often spends some time in the same position after the ritual is concluded; it is from that spot on the main deck that she hears the scream. Discerning that it comes from below, she forgoes her bow in favor of her spear as she makes for the steps belowdecks.

The simple solution is to add effect to Kai's attempt, he is (surprisingly) a well liked being on the ship. The both of you ease a lot of worried souls brooding over the undead. At a minimum they feel you can handle the eventual problems that will arise. There are many complaints about the undead, you quell the majority's concerns successfully however.

With an exasperated yawn, the captain wakes up - for he had taken to giving himself the pleasure of a nap. He had yet heard the scream, but it did not register to his ears - for it was the cause that had awakened him, one could say.
With much laziness, he stared up at the floorboards, and gave a smile to himself. It seemed he had not heard the scream, so much as it had disturbed his sleep. He licked his lips, and put his hands behind his head, and continued to relax - blissfully ignorant.

DM: The scream came from the lower hold. Those that wish to investigate can do so. Those that do please read on:
As you enter the lower hold you come across a small halfling woman holding her mouth in shock as she stares at a body lying lifeless on the floor.
Ieste(female halfling): "Eeek!"
The rigid remains of the half-giant can be seen half hidden behind supply crates and barrels, his form to large to properly conceal. His skin is pale and cold from lying all night in the lower hold.
From a crack in the door on the north side of the lower hold Kripya can be seen peeking out but slowly closes the door.
Shortly after the scream a half awake Jeylend pokes his head out of the livestock area where he sleeps.
Jeylend:"Wha..what's going on?" He mumbles before seeing those gathered staring behind some barrels and crates and the two giant legs sticking out.
Jeylend: "Ho boy, this ain't good."

Appearing to lower decks, Avion sees the sight, which caused the female halfling to scream so hysterically Aah, someone is dead! ahahah, at last something is happening here... same that no one didn´t make appropriate rituals as he looks to corpse. Suny leans forwards and tweaks Avion Merdiota mischievously. She grins impishly at any startled look the man returns. Then she seems to notice the large large shape lying on the deck. Staring at the form of the deceased half-giant she frowns,
"Ooo, an' that's gon'a be a bugger t' shift, an' all." She muses.

Listen Check:1d20+5
"Huh! Whutzzzat?" She struggles upright in the voluminous wrappings. Peering around she blinks at the other folks sharing the cabin space.
Standing, she absently adjusts the robe about herself.
Use Rope Skill:1d20+6(To fashion it into a 'Toga')
As she wanders out and in the direction towards where she thinks she heard the scream. Still occasionally yawning and rubbing the sleep from her large blue eyes.
Boo-YAH! High fashion skillz! *Does happy dance!* (^_^)
Use Rope is for tying knots, binding people with rope, etc. Not making Togas. Sorry Suny. Though you can simply adjust the clothing to resemble a toga. You don't get to keep a karma point in this fashion however. Heh fashion pun.

Turning and seeing Suny next to him and little bit... in less clothing, Avion coughs and thinks for a while Well, I have seen our priestess in leather outfits, with whips... even the drows are not so bad with this but... hmm, hmm, somehow this reminds of this situation I had before but what did she want then as he thinks old moment in old-world, until snapping back to his senses.
Ah yes, indeed. We got one half-giant dead here, apparently for a long time now. Quite blue and all yes. I just made some proper ceremony to send him to... hm, well he got his ceremony at least and shrugs
Looking more clearly at Suny Hm... have you ever though to wear a proper robe? Like rust-red garb? and grins to Suny

damn... DM, you joining the crew now? :D
The OOC flew over my head, what I miss? Did I mess up a NPC quote?
Examining the body you see marks that may not immediately have been noticed as they are rather small.
You find 3 pairs of puncture wounds, 1 pair on his right shoulder close to the neck, another set on his left wrist area, and the last one near his thigh.
If you were to spend a good amount of time, i.e. a take 10, or take 20 action, which requires a set amount of time and patience you can get a better impression of what you found.
The halfling girl pipes up: "I just..just found him like this. I was all alone until now...I just wanted to see what I could make to eat and found him like this."

Ah...so's it'd be a craftin' type skill I be needin' then? No worries. The thing should drape over a skinny medium frame anyhow, since it's originally been made for a large critter. (^_~)
There's no skill roll needed to make it wear like a toga, that really isn't too hard for an average person. Though if you want to go fashion designer route, maybe craft(clothing?), or profession(designer) can be picked up. Or you can pitch me an idea and I'll check out your ideas.

Hm... thats odd. At least the examination I made, I was able to find some small marks near his thigh, left wrist and close to neck. Most likely I would need to spend some more time to take a look.
Thinking for a while and walking back to half-giant body and looking little bit around. Can someone bring more light here? It was quite hard in without light, but with light I can take much better look
Taking 20 to Heal check [+10] = total 30 (with spending time around corpse)
Hopefully this helps :) and tried to RP it so making more natural. Do I still see something or I already saw everything? And my comment: Well, everyone is kind of against "Nerull" and one dead body now in ship to spark the oil... your guess where it might lead :D
"Suny"
Suny listens with half an ear to Avion while giving almost all of her attention to the Half-ling lass. She nods, crouching down so as the better to be at eye level to the girl,
"Ye din't hear anything strange, then?" She pauses..."Um, well other than th' usual creakin' an' shiftin' o' poeple's an'a ship?"

You have some choices though.
It is rather dark, and the conditions here are not ideal for a full exam. You could do it here with penalties, or take it to your makeshift lab and get a better exam underway.
If your 3 undead are in your lab still you can even get a +2 assist bonus as they help you study the corpse. Extra hands and all.
A full autopsy could even be done if you have, or want to pretend you have, those skills.

Halfling: "No ma'am, I dinn't hear a ting. Who did this?she asks no one in particular. "Monsters. Twas the undead maybe, bad juju with undead, but who could move a mountain of a man like that so quiet like? Someone strong I bet...like that Ogre, he was steamed at Finn for sure. This is all we need at a time like this."

Muttering to himself in dark and listening the blame to either ogre or undead.... Huoh... well my dear, you will be served as a food to undeads when the opportunity raises.
Raising and thinking, Avion turns to others Those who are here, who arrive or been just listening in darkness It´s better to transfer his remains to my laboratory... seems to be quite heavy just. Nevertheless, should be easy and grins appears to his face. [/ooc]Command undeads to come[/ooc]
Soon, the 3 undead appears and gather around the corpse. Lifting the dead half-giant and beginning to carry it to Surgeon room. If there is anything to be done or asked, tell them that the corpse is in my room and I will be there also examining it. Anyone who wants, can come and thus disappears along the undeads and corpse
