I know WotC's Spell Compendium has its detractors, but I also suspect that there are a fair number of GMs out there who allow the book's contents into their pathfinder campaigns. I'm just wondering if there's been any effort put into adding the book's spells to the Advanced Player's Guide's spellcasting base classes' spell lists. Were there any unstated guidelines used by the designers to decide which of the core spells were appropriate for each class; guidelines we could now apply to spells from other sources such as the Spell Compendium?
Ideally, it'd be great to get a semi-official list from one of the designers but, failing that perhaps we could reach some sort of a consensus from posters/play-testers; perhaps through an online voting system.

Rest assured. Your not. I personally allow the following spells in my campaign:
Acid Breath: Good for taking care of those pesky trolls.
Boreal Wind: Gale force winds plus cold damage = me likely.
Chain Contingency: The spell contingency multiplied by a factor of awesome!
Chain Missiles: A chain lightning/magic missile magnificico!
Combust: Alot better than fiery gaze (as it actually does set damage instead of just igniting your opponent).
Fimbulwinter: A spell that causes everything for miles to be stuck in winter for months = a good reason to stop a villain.
Firebrand: FIRE! FIRE! FIRE! HEHEHEHEHEH!
Force Missiles: BOOM BABY (with emphasis on the BOOM!)!
Frost Breath: Frozen orcs make the perfect adventurer's stronghold's lawn ornament.
Hail of Stone: There's not better way to stone your enemies to death...well...it's a quicker way anyways.
Ice Lance: Good for making a row of enemies FEEL THE BURN! Frost burn that is!
Obedient Avalanche: The only thing more satisfying than killing your enemies with ice is burying their corpses under a metric s%%&load of it (it also saves a bundle for funerals)!
Prismatic Eye: When you want your eye on an enemy, there's not better eye to have than this!
Sound Lance: What owl bear? Ohhh...you mean the Owl Bear corpse over there with a open hole in it's chest? Sorry. Misunderstood.

The Spell Compendium is a great resource. It's detractors tend to be people who have contempt for splat books in general, so you won't get any help there. I've a bunch of those spells to the various new classes already, , , and when I'm home in front of my books and not on train going home I'll post my personal suggestions. Until then, play hard!
