Vital strike new rules

Rules Questions

Shadow Lodge

I was playing a game and someone read from the SRD that you only multiply damage dice not anything else for Vital Strike. I can't find anything in the errata about new rules for Vital Strike, but I thought you doubled everything except strength, precision damage and bonus damage dice from a weapon. As a fighter I would double power attack, specialization, fighter weapon training and the bonus from the sword's +1. Am I wrong about this or is the DM and player that found this on his palm pilot wrong.

If I recall the earlier forum discussions on it, the team has clarified that you only roll the dice multiple times. You do not double any static damage bonuses.

Only the dice, nothing else. if your Long sword attack is 1d8+5 then your vital strike is 2d8+5

Link for reference.

What they said - the feat actually says "Roll the damage dice twice", it just goes on to clarify that other things are not doubled and (in a somewhat confusing manner) mentions specific items but doesn't add the typical "or any other bonuses" language.

Thanks guys for the information and the link. I am thankful for your answers.
