Spirit Totem, Greater (Su):... In addition, the spirit wisps can now attack foes that are up to 15 feet away from the barbarian and the slam attack deals 1d6 points of negative energy damage.

Spirit Totem, Lesser (Su): ... This slam attack is made using the barbarian’s full base attack bonus, plus the barbarian’s Charisma modifier. The slam deals 1d4 points of negative energy damage, plus the barbarian’s Charisma modifier

Just want to be sure I'm reading this right.

Is GST intended to deal 1d6 slam attack or 1d6+chr mod? I think it's the latter, but RAW it's 1d6 which could actually be worse than 1d4 +chr mod.

Any thoughts?

I don't have an answer for that. I do have another question about it, though:

Is it intended to be a touch attack? It would make sense (it's some sort of incorporeal spirit making the attack), and since the attack roll is only BAB plus a tertiary stat, the attack roll is going to be very low at higher levels. Even with a pretty hefty point buy and the maximum magical investment, it's still unlikely to reach over a +27 to hit. That's probably about the same chance to hit as the barbarian's 3rd or (more likely, with less extreme Charisma buffing) 4th iterative attack, if it's against full AC.

I think it's just a straight slam attack against full AC. Not bad at low levels.

I don't think it'll be quite as bad as you're making out... I edited out the part where living enemies take 1d8 negative energy just for standing next to him and the slam is good for out to 15'.

It does raise an interesting point though:
Could barbarian/sorceror be a viable build?

Its 1d6+Cha, the greater ability is meant to be an increase to the base damage die, like a weapon increasing size.
