Bouncing Spell and Flaming Sphere

Rules Questions

Can the Bouncing Spell feat from the APG be applied to Flaming Sphere and similar spells?

Grand Lodge

No. Flaming Sphere doesn't 'target a single creature' - it doesn't have a Target line at all, but rather an Effect line ('Effect: 5-ft.-diameter sphere'). Compare to spells like Flesh to Stone, which list 'Target: One creature'.

I don't know what you mean my "similar spells", but no, Bouncing Spell would have no effect on a flaming sphere because said spell is not a spell which targets a single creature. Bouncing spell requires the spell to have an entry such as "Target: one humanoid creature", and flaming sphere does not.

'Similar spells' probably refers to Ball Lightning from the APG, which is mostly a souped-up Flaming Sphere. Not sure if there are any other spells of the same kind.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks
