Question 1:
Has there ever been an official response as to why a 10 lb. kilt, when attached to armor adds 15 lb.? (Some people have made the suggestion that the "attachment" material weighs 5 lb.) It would be nice to get this confirmed whether this discepancy was intentional or not.
Question 2:
What happens when you attach a magically enhanced Armored Kilt to regular armor? Of course the enhancement bonuses do not stack, however should special properties (like Shadow) then be confered from the attached kilt? From reviewing the threads, the closest I can find to an "official" comment is from 1 year ago by Frost as below. From that I have ascertained that regardless of the magic kilt's magicial benefits, as soon its attached to armor, it only provides the "attachment benefit" of + 1 AC and -1 Check Pen. None of the kilt's other magical benefits would be available. Would this be the correct interpretation, or have there been more official comments by any of the Paizo team?
When it is attached to armor is when this becomes murky. Does it,
A. Simply change the armor it's attached to (additional weight, +1 to AC and reduce Max Dex by 1) and can not be made into magic armor in its own right? This option would give you Breast plate with armored kilt +1 as 1 item.
B. Remain a seperately enchantable item? This option would give you Breatplate +1 with Armored Kilt +1
I think it's best to go the (A) route (after talking to Sean about it). Attaching the kilt to a piece of armor creates a new piece of armor (Armored Kilt + Breastplate = Armored Kilt/Breastplate) and you can enchant that new piece of armor. Like Sean said, the game can't deal with piecemeal armor.

Yar!
Linked are two relavent threads where this is discussed.
To sum (unless I've missed an eratta or ruling after this threads were active), a kilt that is already enchanted cannot be added to another piece of armor... it has to be built with it on it. It is akin to a masterwork upgrade, except that you can have it by itself as well.(extrapulated from what Sean K. Reynolds said in thread #1)
The legal version of the kilt (extrapulated from thread #2) does not add 15 lbs when added to armor, but only it's own weight: 10 lbs. The legal version is found by combining the info from the AA and the PCS, taking the table entry from one, and the discriptive tex from the other. It will then look like this (scroll up to see the table).
As far as I know, this is the most recent/official answer to your questions. Perhaps I've missed an update, but there you go.
