Sorcerers and other ranged feints

Rules Questions

Is there anything preventing a sorcerer or ranged rogue from using the feint option (or even the improved feint) of bluff to deny their opponents their dex bonus to ac, even though they're some distance away from the victim ?

I don't know about using a feint at range, but a feint is only useful for denying the Dex bonus to the next melee attack, so...

The wording is quite specific that the Dexterity bonus is denied to the opponent, only on the next melee attack made by the PC performing the feint on or before his next turn. I guess there's some wiggle room there for a PC to feint at range, then move and attack in melee in the next round, but that's about it.

Is that errata'd? I don't see it on the open game content or on the 1st printing book i have. In all likelyhood you're right, and its either an oversight or a misprint as opposed to a change from 3.5

Ahhh, i see. Its listed as a melee attack under the combat section, but not on the feat or the skill. Thanks. I thought there was something screwy about it.
