Hey all, I'm getting ready to set up a savages tide game, however I would like to avoid is the plane hopping and end the game on the Isle of Dread.
What I'm thinking is this, Instead of having Shadow Pearls, having one shadow pearl, that is the eye from a Statue of a Demon (maybe not Demigorgon) whom was trapped by the Native's years ago on the Isle of Dread. The Vanderborn's discovered the eye while there years ago, and Vanthus got it when robbing the Vault. While in Kracken Cove he finds out accidentally that if another's blood cover's the pearl while holding it, it emits a shock wave of necrotic energy that attempts to infuse every living thing with in a mile with Savage Fever. Continue Story as normal, with fogmire being a newer shrine to the demon, created by corrupted tribesmen on the island, whom were then turned into the Orlangtu (sp) demons to serve him. Then in the attack Vanthus attempts to use the Pearl with Lavinia's blood. And hopefully the hero's stop him. If so they kill him then, but find the artifact to be very dangerous, and will have to destroy it. (I'm thinking of having Vanthus injure Lavina and the pearl not work, since they are of the same blood, instead something happens to her that will slowly kill her, or maybe impregnate her with a demon spawn or something that can't be aborted who will be the new incarnation of the demon. And to stop it they have to return the pearl to the statue and defeat the demon.
(to do so they will have to visit the Great Dragon Emrag the Glutton whom has lived on the isle for centuries, whom may know something about the origins. From there they will find that the Original Statue is contained in the underground City of Golithsmorga, (sp) and go there and summon basically put the eye in and hopefully kill the Demon Saving Lavina...
Thoughts?
Obviously more to it, but I'm looking for suggestions on how to tighten the basic idea up.
Thank you in advance!

There are several other DMs who have stopped the campaign either with TOD or with Serpents of Scuttlecove. You should be able to find information about that on the forum.
As for the idea: it sounds good to me. As for the corrupt Olman: there are several degenerate Olman tribes on the island, I seem to remember they are cannibals. So that would fit in nicely with the rest.

I'm a believer in the KISS concept: Keep It Simple, Sweetheart! The more you change, the more work you make for yourself and the less you are taking advantage of the existing material - a prospect which tends to become a prospect of diminishing returns. As Luna suggests, ending the game at ToD is the most common option and it does not require any further changes (The Crimson Fleet is stopped, the distribution of Shadow Pears is choked off … done!) Then, if at any time in the future, you want to continue on, you can just pick up where you left off.
