Just wondering if the double crossbow from the APG replaces/supersedes the Minotaur double crossbow from Classic Monsters Revisited.

Yes it does, esp seeing as how CMR is a 3.5 product and not a PFRPG product.

Thanks was mainly wondering because Society still has the minotaur double crossbow as legal from CMR.

CMR is still in the additional resources AFAIK. Someone uses one at our local PFS group and they allow it. Like *MANY* pieces of equipment in PFRPG from their many and sundry books, it is strictly better than the "normal" double crossbow.

EDIT: Damnit, this was an ancient thread...

The minotaur double's the closest thing to good you'll find in a crossbow. Optimize the bloody **** out of it and you'll actually do decent damage. Not great damage, but decent.

Actually I optimized the hell out of it, and does great damage.
A couple of levels of wild rager barbarian for the extra attack, rapid shot, rapid reload, crossbow mastery, levels of cavalier for the challenge, order of the cockatrice for the extra damage. By level 11 i am firing 10 bolts for lots of damage. However this build is only good against your challenge due to the massive penalties otherwise.
