Absalom - Why no AP?

Pathfinder Adventure Path General Discussion

Its the largest city in Golarion, It's got tons of history and is essentially the center of trade and culture in Golarion.

So why is there no AP sent in this massive city?

I get the impression that Absalom is being saved for PFS.

I get the feeling we'll see it around the same time the epic level handbook comes out, as the starstone cathedral is the most epic place in Golarion.

And the Pathfinder Society actually has its Base of Operations there helps, too.

Absalom is the "playground" of the Pathfinder Society.

Now, had we decided to feature Absalom in one of the original APs, things might have worked out differently, but for now, Absalom is not on schedule for any Adventure Paths.

And it's not the center of trade and culture on Golarion, nor is it necessarily the largest city in Golarion; it's those for the Inner Sea region, but who knows what's waiting to be discovered on other continents?

Even if it's only those for the Inner Sea, the 310k population and the area it cover make it very much comparable to Ancient Rome.

But if you delve into China in ancient and medieval times, the populations it had, especially in its largest cities put to shame the European cities at the contemporary times.

Not quite.

During medieval times, yes, china was more populated... during ancient times like pre rome destruction no.. then rome and roman cities were much larger.
The roman world compares more or less well against even medieval china.

It was the dark ages and the massdeath of cities... the mongols scourge was nothing compared to that. Maybe if 20 mongol hordes, one after the other... and none rebuilding...

... And there are already a couple of city APs.
