Use Magic Device- the skill allows you to emulate a class feature, but does that mean you simultaneously emulate a class?
Specifically, would you be able to use UMD to trigger the special powers of a holy avenger? Also, if you used UMD to emulate an oracle's mystery class feature, would you be able to use the ring of revelation in the APG even though it says that it does nothing for non-oracles?

I don't believe the skill allows you to emulate a class, only a specific feature of a class. Thus, your holy avenger example would not work, since it requires that the wielder actually BE a paladin as opposed to requiring, say, the paladin's lay on hands ability.
I don't have the APG, so I can't comment on the other example.

Fatespinner is right. And since the Ring of Revelation is based on the wearer being an oracle, it does nothing for non-oracles, even those using UMD to emulate an oracle's mistery class feature.
Hmm...interesting...now what about an oracle that uses UMD to emulate a DIFFERENT revelation? He's an oracle, and emulating a class feature (a different mystery)...

Does not work, because "Use Magic Device lets you use a magic item as if you had the spell ability or class features of another class" (core rulebook p108).
Emphasis mine. The UMD skill cannot be used to emulate a class feature of the same class.

That's silly on multiple tiers. It's an impressive combination of hardcore rules lawyering and taking advantage of skills not being updated from legacy.
