Any word yet on an "official response"?????
Currently my level 2 alchemist in kingmaker uses extracts and mutagens as a standard action just like his bombs. Hasn't seemed to be any issue with this but I'm still wondering. As is it takes me at least 2 rounds to feel comfortable entering melee. I'd hate to finish buffing then spend a full round of just moving close enough to fight something on round 4.

Regardless of standard action or use being just like potions, my alchemist characters do all their buffing before melee or fights without them. If he spends 2-3 rounds buffing the encounter is over half the time before he's even ready. He does keep one extract ready to slam in the first round before moving into position.

Well I'm only level 2 and My buffs don't exactly last that long when exploring the greenbelt in a kingmaker campaign. Not sure what your using but I'd love to enter combat buffed but its just not possible that often.
