What do you guys think about using Fiendish Boon, but for the Paladin's Divine Bond ability. Instead of summoned creatures with the "fiendish" template, add the "celestial" template, or being able to have a Lawful/Good creature summoned. I realize it may not be as powerful as the mount or such, but I think would make a nice variant option.
If it's done the same way, it's far, far more powerful than the mount. I think the paladin is a strong class as is, so I wouldn't do it unless nerfing something else instead.
I think that it could work, but it is more powerful then a mount, It could add a very interesting NPC to a game. stringburka is right something else needs to take a hit to even it out, Sounds fun tho
I see, thanks for the input. I thought it would be a cool concept, but yeah, looking over it again, it would be pretty beefy. What about having access to a SM spell of a lower level?
It's hard for another reason too: There's almost no good creatures on the summon monster list. Summon monster IX is too powerful because you'd get a Trumpet Archon, but below that, if you don't count celestial normal creatures, the closest thing you could have that's somewhat an alignment match is a Hund Archon at SM IV. Chaotic Evil on the other hand, has matching creatures of every SM except SM IV.
