In last night's game, we were attempting to discover the location of a creature of the Dragon type, and our druid wanted to use Detect Animals or Plants. However, none of us were sure whether the spell's use of the word "animal" referred specifically to the Animal type, or whether it just meant "not a plant".
The GM ruled that it applied only to things of the Animal type, but allowed us to double-check "on the boards", so here I am!
