Best Wizard Prestige Class

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Dark Archive

Hello all,

I was thinking of what route to take my character. There are a limited amount of wizard prestige classes I have seen and wondering what people like most.

1. Loremaster
2. Pathfinder Savant
3. Genie Binder
4. Forget the name but that genie friend class
5. Diabolist
6. Eldritch Knight

I am sort of partial to the diabolist and pathfinder savant. I however wish there were a good equivalent to the diabolist. Pathfinder savant is nice but I hate to lose a caser level.

What do you all think? Is there a good one I haven't seen?

Note: those are 3.5 PrCs, and may involve hunting down OOP books. Granted, Malconvoker is fun.

I would check out the Bloatmage from City of Strangers, it's really well doone and thematic.

I was sticking pathfinder. 3.5 has a ton Incantrix, Anima Mage...but I'm sticking strictly pathfinder

I don't mean this in any offensive way: Do you want a prestige class for the sake of having a prestige class, or for any kind of special ability or for optimization? Generally, straight wizard is probably the best choice in PFRPG, as Paizo has made it a goal to make single classing the "standard" with multi/prestigeclassing a choice for those that want something odd, rather than something powerful.

There are few PF prestige classes that will let you keep your full casting, and those generally tend to have other drawbacks. The straight wizard is fun as hell anyway, and powerful enough.

Well I at the moment see strait class as the best option, with Diabolist and Pathfinder savant as others. I am truthfully looking to cultivate opinions and gauge the opinions of the community.

I like diabolist due to Augmented summoning and the animal companion ( imp ). Pathfinder savant is interesting in the additional versatility you get adding spells from other lists, I also enjoy the fluff.

I am just trying to see what I missed. I will look into the bloatmage
