[LPJ Design] Two Dozen Dangers: Haunts for The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Released

Product Discussion

Louis Porter Jr. Design, in association with Devil’s Workshop, has released its all new product line for use with The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game called Two Dozen Dangers: Haunts at RPGNow.com and DriveThruRPG.com. Here is information on this product:

When a soul fouled by anger and fear leaves its broken corpse, if it is strong enough, that soul may return as a ghost, a wraith or some worse form of undead. If it is strong enough…..Souls lacking the metaphysical vigor to retain their own identity after death may also return… as something else, something lesser, a ghostly presence that blurs the line between a magical trap and a true undead. This supplement details 24 new haunts, building on the new type of hazard introduced in the Pathfinder Game Mastery Guide. Written by Chris Field. Available at RPGNow.com here!!!

Very cool, I was wondering who would be first to support this concept.

Customer service got back to me almost immediately, having added an actual link to my order. So all is good now.

Soon. very soon.

Now available at Paizo.com!!!

Very decent offering. Barring a few spelling and formatting errors, this is a very nice addition to the game.

If I were to nitpick, I would say that some haunt removal instructions border on the extreme (rather unfitting for weaker haunts)... so my advice for a GM running haunts would be to ease a bit on requirements.

Example (CR5 haunt): Destruction A blood member of the ruling family of either
of the two nations involved in the war must be murdered
atop the hill top to appease the spirits of those who fought
and died there.

Now, starting a war (or at least angering a ruling family) over a CR5 Xp award...
Incidentally, this particular haunt description is missing its CR entry (p.3).

The PDF, as a whole, lacks both bookmarks and table of contents.

Overall rating: 3/5. Up to 4/5 if the bookmarks are added.

Regards,
Ruemere

Mental Note.

My fault. I will fix that.

Hmm..this is intersting. Since this PDF is so small, I didn't think a table of content or bookmarks would be or are need. Do most people perfer that all PDFs no matter the size be bookmarked?

A ToC would be nice, they are always nice to have. I do agree that it is to small to worry about bookmarks though.

Taking everyone's advice on this product, I have updated it with a table of contents, bookmarks and the correct CR for those that were missing. I have updated them at RPGNow, DriveThruRPG and Paizo. Both RPGNow and DriveThruRPG are available now while Paizo's will need to be approved but I expect that should not take long. Thanks for your support!

The reason for the ToC and bookmarks being updated is that over the course of the session one needs to find only a single item in a list of 24. It's much more convenient to click and get to the destination.

Next thing is very IMHO, so feel free to ignore:

Haunt removal cost should be approximately in line with CR guidelines (20% of party resources) as CR XX menace should present CR XX challenge and CR XX rewards.

Finally, as per your reply, updated rating:
4.5/5 (due to slight formatting issues)

Ruemere
