What do you do if one of your PC's wants a Pactmaster's Favor?

Legacy of Fire

In the time-honored tradition of PC's blindsiding me and scrambling to figure out how to adjust, this came up.

One of the players has picked the Administrative track and actually wants a pactmaster's favor as well. Thing is, this is the moldspeaker knight.I suppose I should have forseen it, given that our knight has been very concerned about his sanity ever since he got Moldspeaker.

I'm actually going back and forth between allowing it and wondering how it will affect knightly abilities.

I did find the thread on the Pactmaster's Favor (thanks for all that work Sean), but the question remains if it would be unbalancing for gameplay or gimp a knight PC slightly? I can actually see this item working very favorably for a tank-like knight PC.

The rules benefits of the item seem very good. The story penalty of the items could be very bad - would all depend on how you run the Pactmasters. Sounds interesting to me and I'd let the player do it if they want.

Spoiler:
What happens when they show up Katapesh with the scroll? Are the Pactmasters going to demand that it be sold to them? What happens when they return from the City of Brass and the Pactmasters have made peace with Jhavul? Sounds like the PC could be in some serious binds.
